Consider participating in a Virtual Bible Study! A community in crisis is difficult to absorb as an individual. Community bonds are all the more deeply needed to be able to respond to a situ-ation that is beyond ourselves. A St. Anthony/St. Joseph bi-parish group currently is discussing 1 Timothy and meets on Tuesday at either 8:30 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. We meet using zoom, and can interact as a group using either a computer or telephone via video or audio (for those without video capabil-ity). Our casual discussion provides time for us to visit, pray and stay seated in the Gospel message with fellow parishion-ers during this time. If you have any questions or would like to join, please contact Nancy Massman [email protected]; 573-418-8295). If the membership is maxed out, and/or you’d like to start your own group, I am great shar-ing information to help make that happen!

Outside of the times that Mass is being offered privately, the gym at St. Joseph’s will be open for prayer and reflection. Please ensure proper social distancing (6 ft.) while in the gym. (Use the driveway between the parish office and the historical society building to enter the gym as that door to the building is the only one that will be open.)
Bishop McKnight has requested each parish to formulate a Disaster Responder Team to provide service to those who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The fol-lowing survey has been created by the St. Joseph Community Support Team of Westpha-lia to assist our community during this time of need. There have been a number of peo-ple who have volunteered to help other community members in need. We understand some people are going to be shut-in and may need groceries, hard to find supplies, pre-scriptions, a meal, transportation, a phone call, a card, financial assistance or simply a prayer.
Please help us help the people in our community that may need support. If you know someone in our community or are experiencing a need yourself, please complete the confidential form below. One of the Community Support Team Members will con-tact you. If someone you know would like to complete one of the forms via paper, please have them place it in the secure mailbox behind the parish office. If financial assistance is needed, the Diocese is offering aid through Catholic Charities.

NOTE: The funds for the renovation of the church are in a separate parish checking account from the regular parish checking account. The renovation funds are not counted by the Sunday collection counters but are taken care of by a committee during the week days. Therefore, it would be helpful if everyone would write a separate check for any funds that are earmarked for the church renovation and put it in the appropriate envelope. Thank you.

The U.S. Census Bureau is currently hiring for the 2020 Cen-sus. By working for the Census Bureau, our community has a special opportunity to help make the 2020 census an accurate and complete count. The count happens every 10 years with the decennial census, which influences how more than $675 billion from more than 100 federal programs are distributed to states and localities each year.
Here is some of what the census numbers affect: Medicaid; school lunch programs; community development grants; medi-cal services; business locations.
If you are interested in a job, please visit the Census Bureau
