Two women were among the six students in the second pharmacy graduating class.
The college moved to the “new” College Hall.
Pharmacy was one of the first four areas of study approved by the WSU Board of Regents in 1891.
The two-year program was established as part of the chemistry program.
Pharmacy classes were held in “old” College Hall.

Jessie L. Sims became the first African American to graduate from WSU.
She graduated from the pharmacy program.

Tuition began at $10 per semester.
The College of Pharmacy became accredited.

The pharmacy degree changed to a four-year program.
The college’s first Master of Science in pharmacy was awarded to Haakon Bang.
He later served as dean to the college from 1952-1960.
The pharmacy degree became a five-year program.

The college began a partnership with Pullman Memorial Hospital for students to get practical experience.
The Allen I. White lectureship was established.
Dr. Allen I. White served on the pharmacy faculty for 39 years and was Dean of the college from 1960 to 1979.

A new clinical pharmacy pilot program for students was started with Spokane hospitals under the direction of R. Keith Campbell.
1961 The School of Pharmacy became the College of Pharmacy.
The Drug Information Center was established.
The first class of all Pharm.D. students.
The “Outstanding Alumni” award was established.

Legislation allowed pharmacists to prescribe under protocol signed by a collaborating physician.

The college moved to Wegner Hall.
1982The Pharmacology/Toxicology Ph.D. and M.S. degree program was authorized by the WSU Board of Regents with management centered in the College of Pharmacy.
The college was consolidated to one campus at WSU Health Sciences Spokane.
The college extended its Doctor of Pharmacy program to the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences campus in Yakima, Washington

A new law, sponsored by Senator Linda Parlette (a WSU alumna), requires health insurance carriers to recognize pharmacists in the same way as other providers such as physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.

The WSU College of Pharmacy (COP) and Carson College of Business (CCB) established a joint degree program.
The college is ranked 31 out of 96 ranked pharmacy programs in the country.

The WSU 125 statue stood in our lobby for the entire year displaying pharmacy and health sciences memorabilia.
The College of Pharmacy became the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
