.WSSC WATER MAIN REPAIRS BEGIN NOV. 30.

Beginning Monday, November 30 (weather permitting), the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) will begin comprehensive repairs to a water main along MD 355 (Rockville Pike) between the ramps to I-495 (Capital Beltway) and the MD 355 Cedar Lane/West Cedar Lane intersection. Weather permitting, the work should be complete by mid- to late December. Electronic message signs alerting motorists of the pending work will be placed along MD 355 near the work zone alerting motorists of the pending work. The comprehensive repairs are a continuation of primary repairs made to a broken water main on MD 355 near the Cedar Lane/West Cedar Lane intersection last month. Once the repairs are complete, WSSC contractors will resurface the section of road excavated to perform the repairs.

.TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES

To complete all comprehensive repairs to the water main, WSSC will work up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week and may temporarily close the following lanes along MD 355:

Northbound—Single and double left and right lane closures, Sunday through Saturday, up to 24 hours a day

Southbound—Single and double left and right lane closures, Sunday through Saturday, up to 24 hours a day

Drivers should add extra commute time for the repairs and lane closures through the end of the year. Residents and travelers are advised that construction equipment can be loud and disruptive.
