PRIX FIXE DINNER
Our final Sundown Series event for 2014 is a very “secret” affair. The evening centers around author Rebecca Makkai’s new novel The Hundred-
Year House, which tells the story of an old artists’ colony and the many secrets it holds. From 6 to 8pm, prior to Rebecca’s reading, guests are
invited to discover WSPD’s best-kept secrets with a free scavenger hunt featuring a $500 prize, live music, yummies from JCT. Kitchen and more.
QUESTIONS? [email protected] or (404) 274-4743.

ODDS AND ENDS
We polled Abattoir barkeep Holly Cromer to
ask her about her favorite end-of-summer
cocktails, and she had great suggestions for
drinks featuring Abattoir’s signature focus—
local and seasonal ingredients. For drinkers
with a sweet-and-sour tooth, Holly suggests
the Summerland Farm Blackberry Bramble,
featuring gin, Summerland farm Blackberry
Soda and lemon, as well as the lip-smacking
Nantucket Red, made from tequila, aperol,
grapefruit soda and lemon. Or, for new
takes on old classics, try the Maple Perfect
Manhattan, made from bourbon, maple water
and vermouth, and the Rye Old Fashioned,
crafted with Redemption Rye, orange bitters,
carpano and brandied cherry juice. Learn more
at starprovisions.com.
BEHIND THE BAR AT ABATTOIR
On October 10th, WSPD’s biggest fashion
event of the year, A Really Good Strut,
makes its triumphant return. This year’s
event will be bigger and more exclusive
than ever, with a limited number of VIP
tickets available beginning August 25th
through participating fashion merchants.
The remaining VIP tickets, as well as a
limited number of standing-room-only
tickets will be available to the general
public beginning September 8th. For
more information, visit westsidepd.com or
follow us on Facebook.
