on July 10, 2010, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catho-lic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. James Alt-man performed the ceremony. Peggy Wettstein andJulie Stoffel provided music.

The bride’s parents are Leonard and Mary Englertof Nekoosa. Parents of the groom are Kenneth andCheryl Laduron of Wisconsin Rapids.

Jennifer Englert was maid of honor. Bridesmaidswere Danielle Zolnik, Margo Eaton, Elizabeth Rindahland Leah Bushman. Brooke Nigl was personal atten-dant.

Don Voit was best man. Groomsmen were Eric An-dersen, Ryan Thibodeau, Travis Wojtowicz and MattMertely.

Maddie and McKenzie Callahan were flower girls,and Michael Fote was ring bearer.

Roxie Callahan and Lori Fote were readers.Russ Callahan and Steve Laduron served as ushers.The couple took their wedding trip to Jamaica.The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary

education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosseand is a first-grade teacher for the Medford Area Pub-lic School District.

The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in marketingfrom UW-La Crosse and is an analyst for Menards.

They reside in Abbotsford.

Hansen-MaltmanAndrea Hansen and Cyrus Maltman were married

Aug. 14, 2010, in theAssembly Room at the State Capi-tol in Madison. The Rev. Michelle Hall officiated theceremony.

The bride’s attendants were Katie Hansen and Tif-fany LaPointe. The groom’s attendants were Ben Wer-ner and Tyler McDougal.

Kari Manning was a reader.A reception followed at The Madison Club.Parents of the bride are Michael and Brenda Hansen

of Wisconsin Rapids. The groom’s mother is ElizabethMaltman of Fish Creek.

The bride, a graduate of the University of Wiscon-sin-Eau Claire, is employed by the Sun Prairie SchoolDistrict.

The groom is a graduate of Madison Area TechnicalCollege and the UW-Madison Paramedic Program. Heis employed by Ryan Brothers Ambulance Service.

They reside in Sun Prairie.

Merdan-WhippleAmanda Merdan and Ryan Whipple were married

on May 22, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church in Wis-consin Rapids. The Rev. Kent Raddatz performed theceremony.

The bride’s parents are Richard and Mary Merdan ofWisconsin Rapids. Parents of the groom are Toby andLinda Whipple of Muskego.

Alicia Merdan and Emily Meier were maids of hon-or. Bridesmaids were Christina Langrehr, SavannahKlug, Brianna Haenke and Lindsey Plantenberg.

Josh Strzelecki and Damian Nevers were best men.Groomsmen were Jason Kessler, Andrew Ceballos,Timothy Semrad and Brody Plantenberg.

Aubrey Langrehr was flower girl, and Nolan Lan-grehr was ringbearer.

Thomas Carr, Matthew Skalski and Luke Seielstadserved as ushers.

The bride earned a master’s degree in occupa-tional therapy and is employed by ProStep Rehab atMenomonee Falls Health Care Center.

The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in commu-nications/broadcasting and psychology and is em-ployed by Home Depot.

They reside in Menomonee Falls.

were married Aug. 14, 2010, at St. Francis of AssisiCatholic Church in Necedah. The Rev. James Gordonperformed the noon ceremony. Patrick Burkhart andSt. Peter’s Schola of Stevens Point and Ann Bulcherprovided music.

The bride’s parents are Kathy and Rich Hamus ofJunction City. Parents of the groom are Mary and Vir-gil Bulcher of Necedah.

Krista Pavelec was matron of honor. Bridesmaidswere Melissa Riese, Heather Van Hoof, Ann Bulcher,Mary Ann Bulcher, Nora Bulcher and Therese Olsen.Patty Weinfurter and Lisa Dorshorst were personal at-tendants.

Paul Bulcher was best man. Groomsmen were Der-ek Pavelec, William Van Hoof, John Bulcher, Carl VanHoof, Peter Bulcher and Michael Olsen.

Alyssa Pavelec and Angela Olsen were flower girls,and Michael Olsen was ringbearer.

A reception and dinner were held at Travelers Inn &Convention Center in New Lisbon.

The couple took a wedding trip to Door County.The bride is a 1998 graduate of Assumption High

School and a 2002 graduate of St. Mary’s Universityin Winona, Minn., with a degree in elementary educa-tion. She is employed at Wisconsin Dairy State Cheesein Rudolph, and is a substitute teacher.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Queen of the HolyRosary High School in Necedah and received a degreein liberal arts from Thomas Aquinas College in SantaPaula, Calif. He is employed by Wood Trust Bank inWisconsin Rapids.

They reside in Wisconsin Rapids.

Kouba-SaelandMelissa Kouba of Ste-

vens Point and JoshuaSaeland of Nashville areengaged to be married.

She is the daughter ofDon and Cindy Koubaof Wisconsin Rapids. Hisparents are Monty andCarol Saeland of Interna-tional Falls, Minn.

Kouba, a 2003 gradu-ate of the University ofWisconsin-Stevens Point,is employed by Sentry In-surance.

Saeland, a 2005 gradu-ate of UWSP, is employedby Sentry Insurance.

A dinner and reception were held at the Holiday Inn and Conference Centerin Marshfield. The couple spent their honeymoon in Jamaica.

Pamela earned her B.S. in Horticulture and is a cranberry consultant incentral Wisconsin. She is self-employed and works for Lady Bug IPM, LLC.Michael has his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and is currently employed by

New Page. The couple will reside in Wisconsin Rapids.

Pamela Sojka and Michael Verhulstwere married April 17, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace in Marshfield, WI.

Rev. Don Meuret performed the ceremony. LoisKremer and Tara Koch provided the music. AaronHoeppner and Luanne Malsin were the readers.

Ushers were Ryan Smith, Nick Harris, and KoreyLockwood. Greeters and personal attendantswere Anne Skolte, Becky Wacker and Andrea

Linder. Bridesmaids were Kristi Duerr, Lisa Strey,Shianne Rasmussen, Rebecca Verhulst, Amy Salo,

A reception was held at The Ridges in Wisconsin Rapids.

Sarah graduated from Madison Area Technical College, and is employed as a dental assistantat Zietz Family Dental.

Jonathan is a UW-La Crosse graduate, and is a physical education and health teacher atNew Glarus High School.

The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia. They make their home in Madison.

St. Vincent de Paul Church inWisconsin Rapids. The Rev.William Menzel

performed the 2 p.m. ceremony.

She is the daughter of Daniel andKathryn Soman of Livingston. Hisparents are Lawrence and BarbaraSchmick of Wisconsin Rapids.

The bride-to-be is a 1999 gradu-ate of Greenville College with abachelor’s degree in education anda 2006 graduate of the Universityof Wisconsin-La Crosse with a mas-ter’s degree in education. She is em-ployed as an elementary teacher forthe Tri-County Area School District.

Her fiance is a 1999 graduate ofMarquette University with a bach-elor’s degree in finance and a 2002graduate of Marquette Universitywith a master’s degree in businessadministration. He is employed asthe director of finance and account-ing for RoomPro Technologies/Pro-jection Guys.

A June 11, 2011, wedding isplanned.

Clifford and Irene (Saunders) Lewiscelebrated their 70th anniversary onAugust 22, 2010. The couple started theday by renewing their vows at Sacred HeartChurch in Nekoosa. They later received familyand friends at a reception and dinner in theirhonor.

Clifford and Irene were married August 22,1940 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church inWisconsin Rapids. Children of the couple areSharon (Don) Iverson, Terry (Bonnie) Lewis,Brenda Jackson, Dean Lewis and SherriGalles-Teske. They have several grandchildren,great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Clifford was employed at Nepco-GeorgiaPacific for 43 years and retired in December of1980. He has enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Irene is a homemaker who has enjoyedbowling and camping.

They have spent previous winters in Arizona.

They continue to spend their summers inLake Tomahawk.

40th Wedding AnniversaryJohn and Lori (Ward) Svoboda of Wisconsin Rapids, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a family dinner

on October 23rd at Conley’s Supper Club in Kellner.

Their children hosted a surprise party for them after dinner with family and friends at The Bar.

John and Lori were married October 31, 1970, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in Wisconsin Rapids.

They have three children: Tina Timm of Mequon, Brian Svoboda of Wisconsin Rapids,and Melissa (Charlie) Nelson, also of Wisconsin Rapids.

The couple’s eight grandchildren are: Shayley, Logan, and Dillian Timm, of Mequon; Taylor, Samantha,Claire and Lily Nelson, of Wisconsin Rapids; and Connor Svoboda, also of Wisconsin Rapids.

She is a natural resources ed-ucator for the Wisconsin Departmentof Natural Resources at Crex Mead-ows Wildlife Center in Grantsburg.

Thomas is a 1993 graduate of Lin-coln High School. He is a cook andbaker, and has cooked throughout thecountry at resorts and national parks.
