1.Physical therapy

I know it is used to strengthen a person’s muscles. Does physical therapy actually do anything to help the muscles? I know it can be intense, but why work them so hard?

Depending on the extent of the therapy, how expensive is it? What happens to those who need physical therapy and can’t afford it?

How many people as a whole actually need physical therapy? I wonder what the statistics for how many people use it are. What is success rate of people who do have it?

There are privacy laws for people who receive this kind of help, what happens when a law gets broke by the therapist? What does the government allow and not allow for punishment?

It has been said that physical therapy is used to help people strengthen their muscles, but how does one know if it will even benefit the person out in everyday life?

2. Obesity

I know obesity is an ongoing issue with people. What is it that causes people to be obese even when they eat right? Is obesity partially hereditary?

People spend lots of money going to fast food restaurants daily, is it something that the restaurant’s put into the food? Considering going out to eat is costly, why do people still do it? Lots of advertisements on how eating out is bad, what are the statistics that make that assumption?

Our society puts a lot of pressure on people for the way they look, so why is it so bad to go out to eat once a week? Fast food places seem to be a fast growing franchise why is that? Why that is certain people tend to judge others if they go out to eat once or twice a week?

What impact on a person’s health does eating greasy food cause? The lawsuit about the lady who spilt hot coffee oh herself got a settlement for it, why she knows coffee is hot? Does the government plan on doing this every time someone spills coffee on themselves?

Other that putting a caution label on items that you know are hot, what else can we do to ensure safety when going out? What if a waitress accidently spills something on you, does that qualify for the measures as the coffee?

I know exercise helps to maintain good physical condition. If someone gets injured exercising how does that impact their future for exercise? Will the body part that was injured heal properly and completely?

Americans spend lots of money on equipment and gym memberships. Why spend all that money on something if you aren’t going to be faithful in doing every day? How much does an average person spend on exercise equipment? What is cost yearly of someone who buys/uses exercise equipment and the benefit from it?

Society puts a lot of pressure on people to be “skinny.” Why do others judge when they don’t have the “perfect” image? What is the actual statistics that make people want to be perfect?

What are the health risks for gym owners? If someone gets injured in their facility, what kind of state laws and regulations do they have to follow? Do they get some kind of fine?

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be healthy but why do people do it just to fit in? This isn’t true for everyone but it seems to be a common factor. Do people that sign up for gym memberships have to go through a physical and why or why not?

1. Gay Marriage

I know that the LGBT community has a lower rate of STD’s than the hetero community. Why is that? Better informed, and if so, why are they?

I think that larger cities can target LGBT consumers. National advertising has not crossed that line, but I wonder if locally televised ads do.

I know that national opinion is changing. How much do openly LGBT celebrities; actors, athletes and politicians affect opinion?

I know that the question of gay marriage is headed for the Supreme Court. How long will it take to get there? With the current sitting justices what are the chances something, if anything will change?

Some people consider this a question of state’s rights. Will it follow in the footsteps of abortion rights, with every state trying to either restrict or easily allow?

2. Abortion rights

I know that the number of deaths of the mothers has drastically declined since legalization. How safe is the procedure today?

I don’t think that most abortions are performed on low income women. But what are the numbers? How much do unwanted children cost the taxpayers?

The right considers all life sacred. How much is spent each year try-ing to overturn Roe vs. Wade? How much private money is spent feeding hungry US children?

I know that poor nutrition has lasting side effects. What are they? Can they be overcome with a proper diet or are some permanent?

What does hunger end up costing in the long run? I would think that hungry children do poorly in school. Where do these children end up at 18?

Do we as a society care about this issue? How many people consider this to be a problem in the US?

How much can government do to alleviate the problem? Is this a federal or state problem. Which states have the most hungry and why?
