Tata Motors had in February decided to re-brand the car "as a socially responsible company", amove which saw a minor delay in the launch of the vehicle.

While the petrol variants have been priced between Rs 3.2 lakh and Rs 4.75 lakh, the dieselvariants will cost between Rs 3.94 lakh and Rs 5.54 lakh. ata Motors' newly-appointed MD& CEO Guenter Butschek said the new car will be one of the many new models that thecompany plans to drive in for regaining its lost market share.

The company plans to drive in two new SUVs and an entry sedan in the coming time as itrefreshes its model line-up and makes it more contemporary in design, technology and features.

Long wait for the Tata Tiago, re-branded Zica, finally got over on Wednesday (April 6, 2016) asthe company launched it an event in Mumbai. The new hatchback costs between Rs 3.20 lakh -Rs 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With such aggressive pricing, the Tiago undercuts both ofits closest rivals - Maruti Celerio and Hyundai i10. The Tiago is available in two new engine options - a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel and a 1.2-litreRevotron petrol that are claimed to return mileage of 23.84kmpl and 27.28kmpl respectively.This makes the Tiago one of the most fuel efficient cars on sale in India today. Tata Tiago Specifications Built on the updated X0 platform, the Tiago features two new engine options - a 1.2-litreRevotron petrol and a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel. While the petrol engine is good for 84bhp and114Nm, the diesel mill churns out 69bhp and 140Nm. Transmitting power to the front wheels ofthe car is a 5-speed manual gearbox. The company plans to add an AMT version as well, but ata later stage.
