Counting Stitches and Rows In order to be able to work the stitches in the Wrapped In Jamie CAL correctly, it is important to be able to count stitches ahead and behind as well as rows below correctly. Counting stitches ahead and Counting stitches behind and recognizing front loops rows below

Stitch Variations hdcbb - half double crochet behind below; half double crochet into the stitch directly behind and into the top of the stitch from a previous round below the next stitch; using this st increases the 3d effect of the pattern. dcbb - double crochet behind below; double crochet into the stitch directly behind and 2 rounds below the next stitch; using this st increases the 3d effect of the pattern and brings the next stitch up to the height of the current round.

Stitches worked in Front Loops dc in FLO – double crochet worked in the front loop only of the indicated stitch directly below

Third Loops Rounds 14 and 20 of the inside square and round 30 of the border are always sc in the 3rd loop of the stitches (if you choose to do so). A stitch has 2 loops that form something like a V shape, consisting of a front loop (FL) and a back loop (BL). The 3rd loop lies directly behind the back loop. It is the ‘bump’ at the open side of the V, a tiny bit left of center (for a right handed crocheter). Please refer to the pictures below for a visual reference.

Sometimes 2 togethers can be made asymmetrically or with one leg in a front loop and the other around a stitch. If that is the case, it will be explained as a special stitch for that round with instructions how to work each leg.
