On Friday, March 4, 2016, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. the students,
staff, and volunteers at W.R. Croman Primary School had a
Read-A-Thon. The students enjoyed listening to our many
guest readers; including many parents, grandparents, and re-
tired teachers. Thank you to the PTSO and staff for all of their
donations of time and supplies to make this a successful Read-
A-Thon!!
Congratulations to these three students for being chosen as the “artists of the month” for March! Katie is in Mrs. Kshir’s second grade class and she said she absolutely loves to paint. Collin is in Mrs. Raynor’s first grade classroom and he enjoys drawing and learning how to draw new things. Lucas is in Mrs. Vosburg’s kin-dergarten class. Lucas really enjoyed learning about the life of a sea turtle and enjoyed making this picture of one. These three students are always excited and ready for art class. They are each creative and prepared to make new things. Congratulations to each of you!
Miss Young and Mrs. Vosburg’s students are very excited to partici-pate in the Embryology program this year! Mrs. Linda Elsbree from the Bradford County 4-H program recently visited our classroom and brought us all of the equipment and materials we needed to incubate and hatch baby chicks. She gave us an introductory les-son and candled the fertilized eggs. The students are turning into little "egg"sperts and can tell you the key facts about embryology; such as what temperature we need to keep the incubator (100`), how many days it will take for them to hatch (21), the parts of the egg (yolk, albumen, embryo, veins, air cell), etc. We candled the eggs on day 6 and were able to see a dark blob (the embryo), veins, and even could the see the eye in some of them! She also brought embryos at various stages of development that the chicks were in jars for the kids to examine.
Here Come The Chicks!
One of our W. R. Croman students, Christopher C.
won third place in the annual writing competition held
at the Bradford County Library for his piece titled
“Sycrozin”.
