WPA2 Instructions for Blackberry 8320
Instructions for Installing BlackBerry Desktop Manager (BBDM) with Certificate Synchronization
1. Go to www.blackberry.com to download the latest BlackBerry Desktop Software for your PC. If you already have it installed you will need to reinstall it for the appropriate features.
Click Software at the blackberry.com main page.
2. At the next screen click blackberry desktop software for PC’s.

3. At the next screen click the download button.
4. At the next screen from the drop down choose BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.7 or Higher. Click Next.

5. At the next page choose your language of Desktop Manager with or without Media Manager. Media manager is not necessary for wireless or certificate synchronization to function.

6. Fill out the form on the next screen be sure to check that you confirm the information is accurate and click next.
7. Check agree on the next page and click next. 8. Finally click the download button and save the file where you can find it later.
9. When the program has finished downloading choose run.

10. At ‘Welcome’ screen click next.
11. At country selection, choose USA and click next.

12. At License Agreement screen check I ACCEPT and click next.

13. At Destination Folder screen click next.
14. At Setup Type screen select custom and click next.

15. On the Custom Setup Screen be sure to select Certificate Synchronization This feature and all sub features. No red X should appear beside Certificate Synchronization once installed. Click Next.
16. At Integration Options Screen choose Integrate with a personal email account and click next.

17. At Installation Options Screen accept defaults and click Install. You may have to reboot following the installation.
18. When BlackBerry Desktop Manager initially starts you will be prompted to make sure your device is connected. Connect your device and click ok.

Download the UC Certificates for Securewireless. 1. Go to https://webapps.uc.edu/ucit/networking/Certificates.aspx 2. You will be redirected to the Central Login Screen. After entering your Central Login Credentials, you will be forwarded to the Certificate download page.
3. Click Certificate Files link on webpage. 4. After clicking the Certificate Files link, save them to your hard drive.

5. Go to the location where you saved the certificate files and extract them to a folder where
you can find them later.
6. Once extracted right click the first file CA1.crt and choose install certificate.
7. At security warning screen click open.

8. At import wizard screen click next.
9. At Certificate Store screen chose place all certificates in the following store and choose Trusted root Certification Authorities. Click ok then click next.

10. At the final screen click finish.
11. Repeat steps 6-11 for the second Certificate CA2.crt.

Importing the certificate to your 8320 BlackBerry phone.
1. Connect the phone via the usb cable and start your Blackberry desktop manager. 2. If you have not already installed the UC certificates follow the Download the UC
Certificates for Securewireless. Instructions before continuing. 3. Click Synchronize Certificates.
4. Enter your root key password (this is a password you would have been prompted to create upon first starting this application) and click ok.
5. Under Intermediate Certificates and Root Certificates put a check box next to the certificates titled University of Cincinnati in the Certificate Label column. And click Synchronize.

Configuring your BlackBerry 8320 for Securewireless. 1. Click the blackberry applications button and scroll to ‘Set Up Wi-Fi’ 2. Select Manually Add Wi-Fi Network.
3. Type in ‘Securewireless’ click add

4. At Security Type select PEAP and enter your Central Login Credentials for Securewireless. Add the UC certificate that you installed earlier as the CA certificate then click connect.
5. You will see the following screens. Select YES to save profile and click next.
6. Complete.
