    Dry Rabbet Fit Between Casing and Adapter. Precision machined surfaces between casing and adapter are sealed from pumping liquid, preventing surface corrosion and freezing during operation. This is your assurance of fast pump disassembly during mechanical seal replacement.

    Casing Nozzles. Suction and discharge nozzles are ANSI 125 PSI rating. Both are same size and on the same center line, assuring simple and easy pipe installation.

    Casing Gasket is confined to prevent blowout. Unique design prevents corrosion of the dry rabbet fit.

    Preset Mechanical Seal. Mechanical seal is preset on the pump sleeve, eliminating the need for a conventional locking collar. This allows the seal to be assembled into the pump as a unit, reducing maintenance assembly time.

    Adapter Wear Ring is renewable. It is positioned between the mechanical seal chamber and impeller to ensure the seal chamber is under suction pressure and that axial impeller thrust is kept to a minimum. This minimizes the effects of leakage due to seal failure.

    Open Mechanical Seal Chamber. Seal chamber is vented to pump suction and fully open to ensure maximum circulation of liquid at the seal faces. This allows for the lubricating and cooling of the seal faces, prolonging seal life.

    Impellers are enclosed design, hydraulically balanced and positively secured to the shaft by an impeller key. Balance holes are provided in the impeller hub to minimize axial thrust loads and minimize stuffing box pressures. Impellers are heavy-duty industrial quality castings.

    NEMA Standard Motors. D834 utilizes the industry standard NEMA C-face motor.

    Casing Casing shall be close grained cast iron with wall thickness suitable for continuous industrial duty. A drain connection must be

    provided at bottom of casing. A replaceable wearing ring shall be provided.

    Casing Nozzles All casing nozzles are to be flanged and conform to ANSI B16.1 specification with a minimum 125 PSI rating. Suction and

    discharge nozzles are to be positioned 180 0 apart and located on a common centerline for mounting in a pipeline.

    Stuffing Box Shall be one piece integral with the adapter and designed as an open seal chamber to allow maximum flushing action at the mechanical seal faces. The mechanical seal

    chamber shall be vented to suction pressure and sealed from discharge pressure by a replaceable wear ring.

    Mechanical Seal Shall be bellows—non-pusher type secured to the sleeve and positioned by a snap ring to simplify mechanical seal setting procedures. Mechanical seal rotating parts shall be SS with carbon versus Ni-Resist

    Advanced design features assure trouble-free, long-term operation with a minimum of maintenance.

    Worthington 0-800 pumps, available in frame mounted or close coupled (horizontal and ver-tical in-line) configurations, offer you 19 sizes with capacities to 1500 gpm, heads to 400 feet, in sizes from 1" through 4". Applicable to pumping water and a variety of other fluids including solvents, light oils, non-corrosive chemicals, coolants and brine, the 0-800 is a line of cast iron, end suction pumps designed with a combination of features that ensure long-term reliability, high efficiency and ease of maintenance.

    The D-800's back pull-out design allows for easy maintenance by providing access to inter-nal pump components. Its top centerline discharge arrangement eliminates air entrap-ment, bending moments on pump supports, and simplifies piping layout. Other 0-800 features include:

    High-efficiency closed impellers. The closed impeller design is highly efficient and provides balanced axial hydraulic loading for longer thrust bearing life. Axial adjustment is not required to achieve efficient pump operation, as is the case with open impeller designs.

    Mechanical seal cover. Worthington's seal cover provides a more spacious environment for increased flushing action, lubrication and cooling.

    Pre-set mechanical seal. This design elimi-nates the need to measure and adjust a conven-tional locking collar. The mechanical seal can be pre-set on the sleeve and the complete assembly can be installed in the pump, reducing mainte-nance down time.

    Dry-rabbet fit between the casing and adapter. Precision machined surfaces between the casing and the stuffing box cover are sealed off from the pumping liquid, preventing the sur-faces from corroding and freezing while the pump is in operation. Maintenance down time is re-duced during assembly.

    Standard NEMA motor. All close coupled 0-824 horizontal and 0-834 vertical in-line units use standard NEMA C-face motors with JM (JMV) shaft extension, ensuring "off-the-shelf" replacement from a variety of suppliers and reducing cost and down time.

    Interchangeability. 0-800 pumps offer a high degree of interchangeability between the frame mounted and close coupled types. The various sizes of liquid ends can be mounted to a standard bearing frame or directly to a NEMA C-face JM (JMV) shaft motor.
