Contemplative Group We are meeting every Wednesday at 10 a.m. on Zoom (ID 813 1796 4254), No password is re- quired. We begin with 20 minutes of silent medita- tion followed by a teaching and discussion. This week (May 20) we begin a new series on the Enne- agram. The Enneagram is a system of personality typing that describes patterns in how people conceptualize the world and manage their emotions. It describes nine different types and maps each on a nine-pointed diagram which helps to illustrate how the types re- late to one another. According to the Enneagram, every personality has a certain world view and looks at the world through their own lens or filter. This makes it possi- ble to explain why people behave in certain ways. We will be using a series by Fr. Richard Rohr and Russ Hudson. This will be an introductory to the Enneagram, which hopefully will enable participants to further their work in their spiritual journey. If interested, please send Mel Caron your email so that materials can be sent prior to the class - [email protected]. NEW EVENING STUDY! Join Mel and Fr. Don Caron for a 7-week study called “Living the Questions.” This program of- fers a flexible format with DVD presentations and group discussions. The DVD features today’s lead- ing religious voices in theology and scripture. We begin meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 7- 8:30 p.m. on Zoom. The ID for the meeting is 870 6705 8188. No password is required. Each session is free-standing so you can join for one or all of the sessions. This is a recurring meeting, so put this ID in a safe location (like under your phone contacts!) We are offering this as a combined class between St. David’s in Cranbury and Good Shepherd in Pitman. Feel free to invite your friends from other churches to join us too! You can contact Mel at [email protected] or 478-234-3698. Worshipping With Us Welcome! Episcopal worship is parcipatory. We stand, we kneel, we speak, somemes we sing! Please join in at your level of comfort. If youd like to learn more about what we as Episcopalians believe or if you have any quesons, please fill out one of the yellow cards in the pew and give it to Mother Susan or one of our ushers. We hope you feel welcome here and that you will come back oſten to feed your faith. A Word About Receiving Communion in the Episcopal Church All are invited to the Altar to receive. If you would like a blessing, just cross your arms over your chest. If you decide to receive only the bread, extend your hand for the wafer and cross your arms over your chest to decline the wine. For the wine or grape juice you may guide the chalice to your lips by placing your hand gently on the chalices base and guiding it. Or you can dip your host (wafer) into the wine. Or you can give the host to the Lay Eucharisc Minister, who will dip the host into the wine and place it in your mouth. FOOD PANTRY Next week, May 30th & 31st we are collecting Cereal for the Pitman Food Pantry. All donations are greatly appreci- ated and accepted. Since we are not at the church on the weekends you could bring your donations directly to the pantry or Sue Burkhard's house. Pantry hours - Tuesdays 6 to 7, Wednesdays 4 to 5, Thursdays 12 to 1. If you can donate, please bring any items to the pantry during normal open- ing hour, which are Tuesdays from 5:30 – 7:00 PM, Wednesdays from 3:30 – 5:00 PM, and Thursdays from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. The Pantry is located at the First Baptist Church, locat- ed at 30 North Broadway in Pitman.
