Connect

Mark your calendars to

celebrate the 100th birthday

of member Grace Morgan! All

are welcome to stop in

between noon and 5 pm on

Sat., Mar. 28, Rms. 124-126.

Join our Book Review Group when it meets

monthly on the third Sunday at 9:45 am,

Rm. 241. On March 15, we’ll discuss Heartland:

A Memoir of Working Hard and Being Broke in

the Richest Country on Earth. Sarah Smarsh’s

first book is described as “deeply humane

…with crackles of clarifying insight.”

Sundays through March 29

Rm. 237, 9:45 am

Jack and Linda Horner lead this

group in looking at some of the

last words of Jesus at a time

when he knew his death was

approaching. His famous last

words can help us to live the life God intended for us.

Ale House Table Talk. Join Pastor Jack Horner and

Trinity Mechanicsburg’s Pastor Karen Durbin on

Tuesday, March 17, at Appalachian Brewing

Company, 6462 Carlisle Pike. Come at 6 pm to

order dinner, or come at 7 pm for conversation.

Topic: “The Wisdom of St. Patrick”

Order Easter flowers

In the Gathering Space Sundays from now

through March 29: Order Easter flowers that we

use to decorate the church ($10 a pot),

and/or donate toward the cost of providing

balloons for children. Take the flowers home on

Easter after ALL services are over, or let us give

them to at-home members.

Lent at Trinity

Lent: Give up something—or give to

something? Let’s Think Outside the Box! Pick

up a Lenten Offering Box in the Gathering

Space, add money during Lent,

and let your dollars support

orphans in Guatemala and

programs at the Camp Curtin

YMCA. Or donate online at

www.trinitycamphill.org/donate.

Speaking of “taking things

on” during Lent, our Faith

Connect Kids will again

focus on making deliberate

choices to live like Christ called us to live. Led by our

wonderful Sr. High F.O.J. class, each week our kids will be

tasked to serve others through good deeds, informed by

examples they can do at home, school, or church. The good

deeds will be added weekly to our “Lenten Good Deeds

Chain” that will be displayed on the Gathering Space wall.

Watch the chain grow throughout the Lenten season!

Pray and care for others

Every member prayer list March 6-12: Carl & Barbara

Winfield; Rob & Jessica Winesickle, Kaelyn & Hadleigh; Mary

Wilt; Jessica Wilt; Tyler Wilson; Ryan & Sarah Wilson; Rick &

Debbie Wilson; Carl & Janet Williamson; Ron & Val Williams.

Reach out to hospitalized and at-home members listed in

the Narthex and the Gathering Space tract rack.

Wedding: Gary Goodling and Eugene Reba were married on

Feb. 20. [Correction and apologies for last week’s

announcement when we said “Areba” for “Reba.”]

Baptisms:

• Samantha Rose MacConnell, daughter of Daniel and

Elizabeth MacConnell, was baptized March 1.

• Rory James Komykoski, son of David and Elizabeth

Komykoski, was baptized on March 1.

• Cameron Hettinger, son of Art and Brooke Hettinger,

was baptized on March 3.

First Communion—a milestone in which we participate

We’ve witnessed baptisms recently to welcome young

members into our church family. We agreed to support and

pray for these children in their new lives in Christ.

This Sunday, at our 11 am services, we accompany our

baptized children on another step in their faith journey as

they receive their first communion. Look for them (wearing

handmade wooden crosses marked with their names) and

their families, offer them a warm hello, and continue to offer

your support and prayers.

Hey, youth, this is for you

YG for everyone in grades 6-12 is NEXT Sunday, March 15,

Keep our grounds beautiful

Outdoor spring clean-up:

Help us spruce up our

grounds on Sat., April 4,

from 9 am to noon. Bring

gloves and a rake (and a

pick-up truck if you have

one) to help spruce up Trinity’s grounds. Rain date is April 11.

In addition, through October, we need mowers to cut grass

and trim hedges for about two hours weekly; we also need

gardeners to “adopt” a flower bed and provide care for the

season. Contact Bruce Bigelow at [email protected] or

717-761-3289.
