Worship ServicesJune 19, 20168:30 and 11 a.m.

6:30 p.m.

Welcome

Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God.

To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An Elder and his wife will be standing next to the pastor following the service to talk or pray with you.

Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available to assist you.

Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. Leaders will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms before the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1, and the Geneva Room is designated as a Cry Room for parents with fussy children, equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.

Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

†The Call to Worship ....................................................... from Hebrews 12:1-2; 28-29Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,

Let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, let us be grateful for receiv-ing a kingdom that cannot be shaken, Let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!

I hear the Savior say, “Your strength indeed is small, Child of weakness, watch and pray, find in me your all in all.”

Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe;Sin had left a crimson stain, he washed it white as snow.

And when, before the throne, I stand in him complete,“Jesus died my soul to save,” my lips shall still repeat.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ...................................................... 1 Peter 1:9-10But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

O Sovereign God, we acknowledge and confess that we are guilty of pride and unbelief, and neglect to seek you in our daily lives. We have been timid disciples, afraid of putting our lives on the line for the good of your reign on the earth. Forgive our prayerless days, our poverty of love, our sloth in the heavenly race, our wasted hours, and our unspent opportunities. We have sought comfort in possessions, prestige and power. We have tried to save our lives by building our own little kingdoms; yet you call us to find life in laying down our lives for your eternal kingdom. We ask your forgiveness and seek the renewal of our covenant with you. Conform us to the image of our Savior, Jesus, that we may bring you glory. Through Christ we pray, Amen.

*‡The PeaceThe peace of the Lord be with you always.

And also with you.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me.I once was lost, but now am found,Was blind, but now I see.

Through many dangers, toils and snaresI have already come;’Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,And grace will lead me home.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,Bright shining as the sun,We’ve no less days to sing God’s praiseThan when we’ve first begun!

Offering

Offertory—Jesus and Love .............................................................................. Murphy

Words by Mike Murphy | Music by Mike Murphy and Allie Murphy | © 2011 MikeMurphySound

Let me tell you the story of unseen things above, Of Jesus’ cradle and his glory at his cross of love.

Listen to the story of the Lamb, For it will be our theme above in heaven, He saves the weak and weary souls of men When Jesus and love begin.

Let me tell you the story of a sower sowing seeds, Some won’t hear it, some will lose it, and some will believe.

Listen to the story of the Lamb, For it will be our theme above in heaven, He saves the fruitful harvest seed from sin When Jesus and love begin.

Let me tell you the story of how that song will sing, Death is vanquished, the Son is reigning, praise the King of kings.

Listen to the story of the Lamb, For it will be our theme above in heaven, He sings along until the “Amen” When Jesus and love, when Jesus and love,When Jesus and love begin.
