WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.
Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God.
To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.
Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.
Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.
Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.
Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.
Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.
As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

†The Call to Worship .......................................................................................Psalm 97The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice. Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side. For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.
The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come;‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years bright shining as the sun,We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we’d first begun. Amen!

The Personal Confession of Sin (Please kneel if able to do so)
The Corporate Confession of Sin
(Sung by all)God, be merciful to me; On thy grace I rest my plea Plenteous in compassion thou, Blot out my transgressions now; Wash me, make me pure within; Cleanse, O cleanse me from my sin.
My transgressions I confess; Grief and guilt my soul oppress. I have sinned against thy grace, And provoked thee to thy face. I confess thy judgment just; Speechless, I thy mercy trust.
Broken, humbled to the dust By thy wrath and judgment just, Let my contrite heart rejoice, And in gladness hear thy voice; From my sins O hide thy face, Blot them out in boundless grace.
The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ....................................................Psalm 103:8-12
The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

*†The PeaceThe peace of the Lord be with you always.
And also with you.
(Sung by all)How sweet the name of Jesus soundsIn a believer’s ear!It soothes our sorrows, heals our wounds,And drives away our fear.
I makes the wounded spirit wholeAnd calms the troubled breast;’Tis manna to the hungry soul,And to the weary, rest.

The Prayer of Great Thanksgiving
The Word leads us to Christ by the ear: the Sacraments lead us to Christ by the eye and by the mouth and by the hand. But it is to the same Christ we are led. We do not get a better Christ in the Sacrament. But we may get Christ better by taking it. Robert Bruce, a Scottish minister during the 16th Century
God of all good,I bless you for the means of grace;teach me to see in them your loving purposesand the joy and strength of my soul.
You have prepared for me a feast;and though I am unworthy to sit down as guest,I wholly rest on the merits of Jesus, and hide myself beneath his righteousness; When I hear his tender invitationand see his wondrous grace,I cannot hesitate, but must come to you in love.
By your spirit enliven my faith rightly to discernand spiritually to apprehend the Savior. While I gaze upon the emblems of my Saviour’s death, may I ponder why he died, and hear him say,‘I gave my life to purchase yours, presented myself an offering to pay for your sin, shed my blood to blot out your guilt, opened my side to make you clean, endured your curses to set you free, bore your condemnation to satisfy divine justice.’
Oh may I rightly grasp the breadth and length of this design; may Idraw near, obey, extend the hand, take the bread, receive the cup,eat and drink, testify before all menthat I do for myself, gladly, in faith, reverence and love, receive my Lord,to be my life, strength, nourishment, joy, delight.
In the supper I remember his eternal love, boundless grace, infinite compassion, agony, cross, redemption, and receive assurance of pardon, adoption, life, glory. As the outward elements nourish my body,so may your indwelling Spirit invigorate my soul, until that day when I hunger and thirst no more, and sit with Jesus at his heavenly feast.

Evening Prayers
Offertory—Love Constraining to Obedience .................................. Cowper and Twit
Words: William Cowper, 1772 | Music: Kevin Twit | ©1998 Kevin Twit Music
To see the law by Christ fulfilledTo hear his pardoning voiceChanges a slave into a childAnd duty into choice
No strength of nature can sufficeTo serve the Lord arightAnd what she has, she misappliesFor want of clearer light
But to see the law by Christ fulf illedTo hear his pardoning voiceChanges a slave into a childAnd duty into choice
How long beneath the law I layIn bondage and distressI toiled the precept to obeyBut toiled without success
Then to abstain from outward sinWas more than I could doNow if I feel its power withinI feel I hate it too
