*PROFESSING OUR FAITH Nicene Creed (Traditional Translation)

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible;

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made; who for us, and our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And we believe one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

SHARING OUR HEARTS WITH GOD Following each petition, God’s people respond:

Leader: Loving God, People: Hear our prayer. THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

*OFFERING OUR BROKENNESS TO GOD

God of goodness and truth, we have failed to seek your wisdom and have followed paths that lead away from you. Forgive our foolish ways, and lead us in your truth so that we may live in the fullness of life with you. Amen.

Silent Confession

Response (favorite song request) Change My Heart

Change my heart, O God; make it ever true. Change my heart, O God; may I be like you. You are the Potter; I am the clay. Mold me and make me; this is what I pray. Change my heart, O God; make it ever true. Change my heart, O God; may I be like you.

*RECEIVE GOD’S HEALING

*SHARE GOD’S PEACE

Leader: The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

People: And also with you. Please share the peace of Christ with those around you.

*SING GLORY TO GOD Gospel Acclamation

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to God’s people on earth. Glory to God in the highest, and peace to God’s people on earth.

Unique Volunteer Opportunity to support NSI NSI has a unique volunteer opportunity to share and it’s a bit urgent. We’ve long partnered with the Unity Fridge Program at OSU. This farm is dedicated to growing fresh produce to be given directly to those facing hunger. Their harvest has really come in and they need help picking produce. I spent two hours this morning picking cherry tomatoes and barely made a dent! They’re looking for help every Monday and Wednesday throughout August from 9 am – 10:30 am. Please contact Amanda Porter, Director of Development, at 614-297-0592 for more information.
