WE RESPOND TO GOD’S WORD

(8:00) OrdinationandInstallationofOfficer Elder: Tyler Craft

Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer Jim Ferry Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Offertory Anthem - There is a Balm in Gilead arr. William L. Dawson (1898-1990)There is a Balm in Gilead, to make the wounded whole, there is a Balm in Gilead, to heal the sinsick soul. Sometimes I feel discouraged, and think my work’s in vain, but then the Holy Spirit revives my soul again. If you cannot sing like angels, if you cannot preach like Paul, you can tell the love of Jesus, and say “He died for all.”

*Offertory Response Hymn 643 - stanza 3 NUN DANKET ALLE GOTTAll praise and thanks to God, who reigns in highest heaven,to Father and to Son and Spirit now be given:the one eternal God, whom heaven and earth adore, the God who was, and is, and shall be evermore.

*AffirmationofFaithadapted from I Corinthians 15 Letusaffirmwhatwehavereceivedfromthesaintsandapostles:JesusChristdiedforoursinsin accordance with the scriptures. He was buried and then raised on the third day as the scriptures attested. HeappearedtoPeter, andthentotheotherdisciples.Heshowedhimselftofivehundredsistersand brothers. By this grace of God, we are made whole. God’s grace towards us is never in vain. We work and live for the sake of God’s love because the grace of Jesus is always with us. This is the faith we proclaim and believe.

WE GO IN GOD’S NAME

*Hymn 394 - Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation WESTMINSTER ABBEY *Charge and Benediction

*Closing Response Hymn 643 - stanza 1 NUN DANKET ALLE GOTT Now thank we all our God with heart and hands and voices, who wondrous things hath done, in whom this world rejoices; who, from our mothers’ arms, hath blessed us on our way with countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

*Chiming of the Trinity The worship service ends with the Chiming of the Trinity.

Please be mindful of those who remain to listen to the postlude.
