Maintenance as a basis for continuity and life time:Continual maintenance of measurement, control and alarm instruments and systems is of great importance to the continuity of your business activities. Maintenance offers certainty about proper functioning of your indis-pensable systems, so that you will not unfortunately ex-perience problems that could have been avoided. Next to that, increasing legislation and regulation cause mainte-nance to be a necessity in order to meet all requirements. I&C Services knows from experience that therefore many users consider reliable maintenance a big advantage.

Maintenance is required to guarantee proper functioning of your systems and in addition to expand their life time. It also prevents system failure. I&C Services offers you an organized maintenance schedule, with good value for money, to ensure all systems keep functioning properly.

High-grade calibration equipment:Next to maintaining all of your measurement, control and alarm instruments it is important to have them checked, calibrated and certified. There is also legislation and regu-lation regarding calibration. Therefore, your equipment must work within the proper calibration range at all times. Repairs can be combined with maintenance, but sudden repairs represent a large part of our work as well. It is very unfortunate if you suddenly have to interrupt your activi-ties caused by mechanical failure of vital systems. That is why I&C Services has a flexible working method, enabling service engineers to be available immediately to carry out (urgent) repairs and to get your systems, installations, measurement and control instruments certified. This way, you know for sure that the problems are solved quickly and with expertise, both home ànd abroad.

Strategic spare parts are kept in stock to make sure urgent repairs are executed efficiently. In most cases, I&C Servi-ces’ engineers are on site within 24 hours. This depends partly on traveling distance and available flights.

Installation and commissioning at the highest level:Being on the way for so long, I&C Services evades no dif-ficulties anymore, it doesn’t have to either. Installing sys-tems and installations on newly build ships and replacing or modifying installations on existing vessels is only our starting point. From there, I&C Services navigates to any requested or required level. Monitoring, Alarming, Control and ProtectionFixed Gas and Fire Detection


The PL4+ gas control unit represents the best techno-logy for the detection of flammable, toxic or Oxygen compounds in small systems. The PL4+ has 4 analog 4-20 mA inputs that can be extended to 8 by using the 4-input expansion board PL4/ESP, easy to plug in the control unit. The panel is housed in IP65 ABS box with a 12Vdc 1.5 A power supply integrated.

The MULTISCAN++S1 are advanced multifunction gas detection control panel designed to meet with the increasing requests for highly flexible systems. A powerful microprocessor allows a wide range of self-testing facilities to take place to detect and localize possible failures. The system allows the connection of gas detectors and remote input/output modules via 2 open loops to be extended up to 4. The control panels can manage and monitor up to 256 gas detec-tors. These can either be addressable detectors, daisy chained on the available loops, or analog type with 4-20mA transmission, connected via remote 8 input cards STG/IN8-S. The system architecture includes 8 preset relays onboard the units and the possibility to have further 256 open collector outputs via remote STG/OUT16-S output cards. To these cards it is possi-ble to connect 8-relays boards, should relay outputs be required.

SMART3G series gas detectors are employed to de-tect flammable compounds (%LEL), toxic compounds (ppm) and Oxygen contents for both depletion and enrichment in classified areas. The Pellistor sensors employed for the flammable detection show an ex-cellent output linearity up to 100% LEL. For aggres-sive atmospheres, where the Pellistor sensors would be seriously damaged, Sensitron developed a version employing industrial grade Infrared sensors: IR sen-sors are poison free and this grants a higher accuracy and a longer lifetime to the cell. For the toxic gas de-tection, Sensitron has operated a reliable selection among the most performing electrochemical cells to supply units representing the state of the art in toxic gas detection. The SMART3G line has been designed to offer a wide range of alternatives that grant customers the best to their requirements.

Designed to meet with the toughest industrial requi-rements, SMART S-SS allow monitoring toxic and flam-mable contents in harsh environments. They offer an 8 Digits back-lit display and 5 mode status LED‘s for the gas concentration reading and feature non-intrusive calibration for an accurate and easy adjustment either via Hall-effect switches or IrDA interface and keypad, without opening the instrument and declassifying the area.

The rack module assures a very easy installation in industrial cabinets. Available racks for 8 or 16 chan-nels. Alphanumerical display with 32 positions, shows the gas concentration (or Input measure) and its unit 3 Multifunction keys for configuration and Led lights for alarms and fault. The G4100 NOX/O2 Analyzing System

is a practical and direct in-situ gas analyzer for on-

board monitoring of NOX concentrations. This ana-

lyzer uses a new zirconia sensor technology, which provides a cost-effective solution to fulfill tightening emission regulations as well as to support the most ef-fective operation for both diesel engines and boilers. The G4100 NOX/O2 Analyzing System is designed for direct measurement and monitoring of NOX emissi-ons in accordance with Annex VI of MARPOL 73/78, the NOX Technical Code, and the Guidelines for On-Board NOX Verification Procedure (MEPC.103 (49).

G4900 Recording & Visualization SystemThis module gives you data logging & recording capa-city for all G4100 NOX/O2 Analyzing Systems as well as a simple visualization via a medium-sized touch screen. Furthermore this module converts the NOX emissions from ppm to g/kWh as requires by MARPOL Annex VI and subsequent regulations. The calculati-ons are based on predefined values unless specific data is provided.G490 MARPOL Reporting SystemThis module extends the G4900 Recording & Visuali-zation System with all the necessary inputs, sensors, and documentation, required for a fully approved re-porting system. Green Instruments started – at that time under the name SBS Technology – with a simple but effective opacity meter measuring the blackness of exhaust gas. The G1000 is a particularly robust system well suited for the tough marine environment. Voyage data recorder (VDR), popular name-black box, is used for recording all kinds of na-vigation information. The recorded data is used for analyzing causes of major and minor incidents happe-ned during ships’ voyage.

Totem Bridge Alert Management System (BAMS) presents bridge alarms and warnings on one central panel, and enables easy identification of the source as well as rapid silencing of the audible alarm. The BAMS is type approved by GL, is in accordance with latest IMO resolutions: MSC.302(87); MSC.252(83); IEC 61924 ed.2; A.694 (17); MSC.1021(26) ; DNV NAUT-OSV. The PS500 can be tailored to detect up to five gases with its toxic and catalytic sensors, photo ionisation detectors and infrared capabilities. ‘Plug and Play’ op-tion allows the customer to ‘plug in’ a new board with a different gas range. The PS500 is particularly useful in noisy environments, featuring a very loud (95dBA) pe-netrating and distinctive audible alarm together with high visibility large area visual alarm. Pump, diffusion or both together, allowing pumped sample for pre-entry checking and diffusion in confined space working, thus maximising battery life. A ro-bust, moulded, rubberised casing guaranteeing Hi-Impact resistance, the PS500 can be used in the most demanding environments.

A robust and accurate portable gas detector, the Personal Surveyor (PS200 Series) provides unrivalled protection in confined space applications with au-dible and visual alarms in the event of exposure to flammable or toxic gases. The Portable Closed Flexi-Dip measuring tape is a battery-operated electronic unit that

is totally gas-tight. When installed in a vapor-control valve mounted on a storage (cargo) tank, it forms a tightly sealed system that prevents toxic vapors from escaping and creates a closed gauging system for that tank. The tape is marked in metric or english units and is anti-static coated (as is the sensor). In ad-dition, the tape is color marked to make tape direc-tion and motion easily seen and to ensure full rewind position. A coiled grounding cable with large alligator clip is standard. This closed system is recognized by many worldwide regulatory bodies as equivalent to a fixed gauging system as long as the tape remains in the valve from the beginning until the end of loading or discharging of the tank.
