The patented Taurus Security System gives all Taurus firearms an extra level of security with the simple turn of a key. This system is completely inconspicuous and can be utilized at the owner’s discretion to prevent unauthorized use of a Taurus firearm. The Taurus Security System is included at no extra charge and comes with two keys.

UNLIMITED LIFETIME REPAIR POLICY™

Simply stated, we will repair any Taurus fi rearm imported or manufactured by Taurus International FREE OF CHARGE should it ever require repair, for the lifetime of the fi rearm. Even if you purchase a pre-owned Taurus fi rearm, Taurus’ lifetime repair policy follows it, remaining in effect. The only exclusions are damages caused by customer abuse, modifi cations and accessories, rust corrosion, sights, or (after one year) cosmetic defects.

All Taurus fi rearms are engineered to accept a steady diet of factory-new Plus-P (+P) ammunition built to SAAMI specifi cations. This includes the Ultra-Lite hammer forged aluminum alloys, Titanium, blue steel and matte stainless models. The Taurus Story

T aurus, whose corporate headquarters are based in Porto Alegre, Brazil, was founded in 1939 and produced its fi rst revolver in 1941. Bob Morrison, who had dedicated four-plus decades to

the shooting sports industry, joined the company in 1993 as a rep, then as an employee in 1995 at its Miami, Florida, offi ce and was promoted to President/CEO in 2005.

WE GENUINELY BELIEVE WE MANUFACTURE FIREARMS BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE.

Think about it. Most other fi rearms manufacturers are “assemblers” of fi rearms; Taurus is a “manufacturer” of fi rearms. We manufacture everything from the fi ring pins and magazines, to the carbide-tipped cutting tools and fi xtures, to our own high-speed CNC machines.

All the CNC machines are made by Taurus for the sole purpose of making fi rearms—nothing else. As you walk through the Taurus plants, you’ll see a lot of machines with the Taurus name on them. It’s not just that we own them—we built them. Here’s the benefi t. We can walk down the aisle to the offi ces of our engineers and tell them what the requirements are for the fi rearm we have on the drawing board or computer screen. We can then have the CNC machinery built to spec. No one else in our industry has that luxury internally.

TEAMWORK IS A CRITICAL FACTOR BETWEEN MIAMI AND PORTO ALEGRE.

We’re fortunate to have had the same senior vice president in charge of manufacturing for years—and one of the best—Jorge Velloso. He knows how to adjust from fi rearms manufacturing to machine manufacturing, to overseeing and executing the design. He’s a creator like no one I’ve ever worked with. You can produce anything once, but to be able to mass produce it is something totally different.

And we complement each other so well. I’ve been in this industry 44 years—at Colt, Smith & Wesson and others. I know what works and what doesn’t. The execution of an idea is what counts in getting a consensus, then making it work. We collaborate so well with our team in Brazil.

Taurus put faith in me to make this line of fi rearms really go. I’ve never looked back since the day they hired me. I met Carlos Murgel (former chairman) and Luis Estima (current chairman and owner of Taurus) in 1972 and we became fast friends, and I became convinced as the years went by that they really had a vision that I shared and wanted to be a part of. The company’s success is in large part due to Mr. Estima’s uninterrupted leadership of Forjas Taurus.

A KEY PART OF TAURUS’ SUCCESS IS DEEPLY ROOTED IN THE FACT THAT WE DON’T HAVE TO RELY ON OUTSIDE VENDORS FOR PARTS OR EQUIPMENT.

All components in our MIM operation allow us to make perfect parts and not have to rely on outside vendors like most fi rearms manufacturers do. Then you’re at the mercy of outside vendors regarding quality of the parts, minimum/maximum standards, etc., and at some given point you lose quality control. We’re the last integrated fi rearms plant in the world, and we’re proud of it.

I can state unequivocally that using MIM parts has allowed Taurus to make much better fi rearms at a more reasonable price. We make millions of MIM parts a year. I believe we were the originators in this industry. You’d be amazed at the number of fi rearms parts we make for custom gunsmiths and parts for other fi rearms companies.

You’d be surprised if I told you some of the companies we supply MIM parts to. That says a lot about the quality of our operation when you have competitors placing orders.

OUR FORGING OPERATION IS ULTIMATELY THE HEART AND SOUL OF TAURUS.

Our forging operation is another unique element of Taurus’ fi rearms manufacturing facility in Brazil. Forged steel is all about aligning molecules. The power of forging is the strength in molecular alignment. And it goes on from there: All of our metals undergo stringent metallurgy tests. Forging is the heart of strength and durability when it comes to ferrous metals.

And in the actual manufacturing, I like to say we’re concentricity-focused; we’re constantly measuring and remeasuring, checking parts in order to maintain the most consistent and highest level of manufacturing

tolerances. It’s the essence of good gunmaking. For example, mating a barrel to the frame to be concentric with a revolving chamber is easier said than done. If there isn’t perfect alignment, the fi rearm cannot be accurate. Accuracy relies on concentricity.

KEEPING EVERYTHING IN-HOUSE ALSO MEANS FASTER TURN AROUND TIME FOR NEW PRODUCTS.

We can make changes in an extraordinarily short period of time, which is quite unheard of in fi rearms manufacturing today. No other manufacturer in the world can do what we do. If we recognize a need to change a

process or design, literally in a three-month period, it’s done—almost no delay in turnaround time at all—and that gives us a decided edge, a huge advantage in the marketplace. I see prototypes quicker than anyone else in the industry. It affords us the fl exibility without going outside and relying on some other company or person. That’s why our fi rearms are proven and valid designs.

OUR NEW PRODUCTS ARE WHAT KEEP TAURUS ALIVE AND WELL.

Look what we’ve done in recent years—the Judge, SLIM, 24/7, TCP, Public Defender—it goes on and on. We make a point of listening to what the consumer wants, and we deliver it in short order. We’re always thinking about what to do next.

OUR INTERACTION WITH DEALERS AND CONSUMERS IS A KEY PART TO OUR LAUNCHING NEW PRODUCTS.

We’ve proven our fl exibility by quickly responding to market changes. No one is faster than Taurus in responding to changes in the market. And I’m forever thankful that Taurus affords me the freedom to run with an idea. The end result is more signifi cant new products on a yearly basis.

WARNING - Regarding the use of “+P” ammunition in Taurus Firearms.

For years we have said that our fi rearms were “+P Rated”—and they were and are for SAAMI Recognized “+P” ammunition.

Recently there have been many developments in this fi eld — not all of them good. Some ammunition companies are in a type of horsepower race to see who can develop the most pressure and subsequent velocity with little regard for what’s available in fi rearms to handle these “hot” loads. All fi rearms have a diffi cult time in tolerating loads that exceed all common sense with pressure curves that can virtually tear the metal apart.

Taurus once again states their claim that Taurus fi rearms are “+P Rated” for SAAMI Recognized +P Loads.

These are the only pressures, by caliber, that are recognized by SAAMI. Shooting any ammunition in a Taurus fi rearm above the pressures recognized by SAAMI voids the warranty and places the shooter at great risk.
