Places During The World War
I live in a house that was made in 1935! Elephant castle was bombed highly because loads of people slept. Also the River Thames was bombed a lot so people could go on a boat to Germany. Both houses of Parliament were bombed during 1940-1941. Saint Paul Cathedral was bombed! Big ben was silent for 2 years to not be destroyed because the prime minster was there.
Fascinating Facts
Surprisingly, London was bombed for 57 nights. England weren’t invaded first but France were. People wouldn’t talk about their plans because a German spy could be listening. Also children had too be sent out to other houses out of their city. 55 thousand people were killed. Did you know Liverpool was actually the most bombed place in England! England air craft was the RAF.
