WSB XVI 2019

The World Supremacy Battlegrounds (WSB) XVI Festival has become an international gateway to thousands of street dancers across the globe. From Canada to The Philippines, Sierra Leone to South Africa, Singapore to New Zealand, and Hong Kong to mainland China, WSB continues to preach its message – lead, empower and inspire the world. In its sixteenth year of competition, WSB reached four continents in 2019 - Asia, Africa, North America and Australia. It’s only the tip of the iceberg. Ultimately, our goal is to bring more nations together, cultivate new friendships, foster camaraderie, encourage collaboration between the greater dance community and promote cultural exchange. We have partnered up with host Blacktown Workers Club once again to celebrate Hip Hop and dance. Blacktown is right in the heart of Western Sydney and it has become a growing hub for dancers and artists in the region. From September 30 to October 6 the Diamond Showroom and Ballroom will become the stomping ground to the hottest and freshest dancers around the world. The WSB XVI Festival will be preceded by DanceCon, a brand-new dance convention that offers direct access to Hollywood, reality show experience, social media content creation, industry panels, Q&A sessions and intensive masterclass workshops. Australian studio owners, dance choreographers, students and creator can use this new platform to train, network and collaborate. The Dancers’ Ball and WSB Dance Industry Awards Night returns as a red-carpet prelude to the WSB Championships on Thursday October 3. Dance movie star Dave Scott and Michael Jackson’s choreographer and Hip-Hop icon, Buddha Stretch will be our special guests. On Friday October 4, WSB International Semi-Final Showdown will kick off the competition featuring the best international crews, followed by the Urban Street Fashion Runway Show. On Saturday October 5, The WSB Australian National Finals will be split into three sessions. WSB Supreme Battles will run simultaneously in the afternoon with two major categories, 1v1 and 2v2 All Styles Battles, followed by the WSB x BUILDABEAST x DEFY Show, featuring Wildabeast. The WSB International Championship will feature two Finals Shows in the morning and afternoon on Sunday October 6. The Country vs Country Battles will close out the last day of WSB XVI. The four-day WSB XVI Festival is a celebration of dance, of Hip Hop and our art. It’s a chance for you to contribute and be recognised in our ever-growing WSB community. Dance MÁS, live more. WSB XVI STARS 2019

Dance icon Dave Scott returns to WSB as an international dance judge and special guest at the inaugural WSB Dance Industry Awards/Dancers Ball. He is a multi-talented choreographer, movie producer, talent developer and entrepreneur. Some of his major credits include Step Up, You Got Served, Stomp The Yard, Coach Carter, Battle of the Year to name a few. He has worked with some amazing music artists like Brian McKnight, B2K, Ginuwine and Bow Wow to name a few, and is a regular choreographer on SYTYD and The Pulse.


Hip Hop royalty. OG. Ground breaking artist who featured as Michael Jackson’s choreographer in the music video ‘Remember The Time” and in Will Smith’s ‘Getting Jiggy Wit It”, Buddha Stretch’s dance style draws from all aspects of the Hip Hop culture.


Jayden “J-ROD” Rodrigues is a versatile entertainer. He is a YouTube sensation, dancer, choreographer, singer, cosplayer and gamer. His creativity and affable personality make him a popular figure at WSB. He

has over one million YouTube subscribers and has gotten over 314 million views on his channel.


Tank Bautista is a talented young dance and music star. He is a multi-championship winning dancer and choreographer at WSB in 2015 and Worlds in 2016-2017. The talented Filipino artist is also an

accomplished singer-songwriter and entrepreneur who continues to represent his culture to the fullest.


The multi-talented Australian rapper, beatboxer, actor, singer-songwriter, guitarist, dancer and resident WSB MC is your ultimate entertainer. The “vocal freak of nature” has captivated audiences with her

charisma, wit and charm on and off the stage.


Australia’s Got Talent Grand Finalist and Beatbox Champion Genesis Cerezo is a gifted artist and photographer. Born and raised in the Philippines, the local Sydney resident will rock the WSB crowd with his

create jaw-dropping sound effects and creative musical flow.
