The origin of The Ibeto Group dates back to the auto spare parts city of Nnewi, in the 1970s. At that time Mr. Cletus Madubugwu Ibeto had just started his life as an auto spare parts trader. He was motivated by a strong desire to positively touch other peoples' lives as well as create a role model for the Nigerian society.

Despite his impressive track record, he soon became bored with the limited challenges and potential that the auto spare parts business offered, and in 1984, veered into colour photographic processing business, establishing The Ibeto Industries Limited – the second photographic colour laboratory in Nigeria and the first in the eastern part of the country.

The wealth of over 30 years of skill and experience has today made The Ibeto Group an acknowledged pioneer in rural industrialization. It has also gained reputation for being one of the most successful private organizations in Nigeria. Their achievements are rooted on a high sense of mission; of establishing and nurturing an ideal, viable and enduring industrial organization.

During its memorable years of existence, The Ibeto Group has created the foundations; first of a Company, then of a Group, whose structure, financial strength, dependability and expertise guarantee top-quality products and services to their customers. The Group Leader, Madubugwu Ibeto, has committed entrepreneurial will and energy to establishing a large industrial and commercial enterprise as well as excellent managerial acumen and these have combined to create an organizational structure that has ensured the survival of the enterprise even in the face of man-made challenges.

r. Cletus Madubugwo Ibeto is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Ibeto Group. The t itles reflect his total involvement with the organization. In both word and deed, he attempts to inculcate in his employees the full commitment that he expects of them.The people who work in close proximity with him find his driving energy both exhilarating and exhausting. He works very long hours at least six days out of seven. He is tireless and expects the same amount of dedication and effort from everyone else in his team.

Dr. Ibeto is a man of good character with good business and community reputation, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence.He has been honoured by the Federal Government of Nigeria with Officer of the Orderof the Niger (OON); and by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with a Doctorof Business Administration, DBA (Honoris Causa).He demonstrates his love for God through his multi-faceted philanthropic endeavours, perhaps best symbolized by the imposing St. Cletus Catholic Church with its 2,300seat capacity sanctuary; parish priest's House, adjoining 1,300seat capacityauditorium dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, guest houses, and community halls which he donated to his home community, Otolo, Nnewi in Anambra State.

Dr. Ibeto served as President, Nnewi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture from1994 to 1998. In January 1997, the Anambra State Governmentaccorded him with a State Honour in recognition of his contributions towards thedevelopment of the State and on July 8, 2000, he received the prestigious awardof the Rotary Club of Enugu, Rotary International District 9140. 2000, he receivedthe prestigious award of the Rotary Club of Enugu, Rotary International District 9140.

He is an industrialist who has advanced the cause of internationalgoodwill and understanding through his extensive international business undertakings. No wonder in 2005, the Federal Government of Nigeria found him worthy to serve as Chairman of Small and Medium EnterprisesDevelopment Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).He is currently on the board of many reputable institutions.
