World Championship Carp Fishing Lac du Bourdon, Saint-Fargeau - France 2016 Ladies and Gentlemen Dear competitors and friends. This is such a great honnor for our Carp committee to French Federation of Sport Fishing to host from September the 20th to 24th 2016, the 18th World Championship Carp Fishing. The chosen lake is one of the most beautiful and full-of-fish place over Burgundy region. My colleagues and I are convinced that the « Lac - Réservoir du BOURDON » on SAINT FARGEAU, correspond certainly with all the distinctives characteristics required by that kind of tournament. We shall also do our best to make sure that this moment gathers more than 25 countries, and furthermore gathers all of us for a common passion, a common passion about fishing, regardless the place we are from. We are proud to tell you that, from now on, everything will be applied to make sure that you are taking pleasure in being part of this event. Everything shall be done in the simplest way, from the first day til the last, made up of clearness, simplicity, fairness and solidarity with one aim : Sportsmanship. I would like to thank personally the managers of the FIPSed for trusting all along in the organization of that Championship. I also have to thank all the local authorities, local fishing federations and associations, accommodations providers and media for their help and their involvement and naturally all the GN Carpe members : Steering Committee, Staff members, Referees, Cooking, Staff members, volunteers and all the crew members working to make this event exceptional. All of the organizing team and our entire group CARPE France, you wish now to welcome in Burgundy region. Good fishing, good luck and enjoy your stay in our land of France.

BOURDON LAKE - SAINT FARGEAU Perfectly located from Europe and the rest of the country, this lake is situated is a fairly reachable place for the competitors and visitors, thanks to some of the majors french highroads nearby, leading straight to Paris within less than 2 hours. The last officials national championship (Regional Chamionship and the 2015 French Championship’s Final) that took place on this lake surely demonstrated that the halieutic management and the density of carp per hectare are ideally appropriate for such international event. The average fish weight is around 7kg with some marvelous specimen going over 20 kg. Moreover, the regional Fishing Federation of Yonne, the local Fishing association and us National Carp Group, in order to prepare the 2016 world championship, introduced more than 5 tons of carp, estimated 5 to 6 kg each, before the end of 2015. It matters to precise these fish come from the last drain lakes around Saint Fargeau. It also sounds important to us to precise that a prefecturall decree establish the “No-kill” fishing until the Championship. In that way, we are making sure of flock’s preservation. The 8200 metres of usable banks, for a total of 220 hectare when the level of water reach the 12 metres on the dyke scale on dam, assure to host until 25 nations while respecting the required distances between rings and fishing spots.

The registration fees include, 11 invitations for the Opening ceremony, Closing Gala banquet, a specific fishing Licence for the championship, insurance policies… All the accommodation’s fees shall be assumed by the Nations themselves. NATION’S REGISTRATION TO THE EVENT: All the forms must have been returned filled before the 31th of July 2016. More details about the proceedings of the event, the fishing spots localisation and all additional informations about the tournament will be given on the event’s : Facebook page : CDM2016 ALL THE DELEGATIONS MUST BRING THEIR OWN NATIONAL FALGS AND NATIONAL ANTHEM. THE NATIONAL ANTHEM SHALL BE VERIFED BY THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE DURING THE TEAM’S REGISTRATIONS. ACCOMMODATION : There are many possibilities of accommodation within fifteen kilometres of the lake.
