Recommendations: 1. Crab hatchery must be near to culture area;2. Reducing the salinity of larvae rearing to

the culture environment;3. Efforts should be provided to stabilize the

larvae rearing of mud crab.

Project Title: Diversification of culture practice for optimizing production of the shrimp (Penaeus monodon) culture system in the coastal ghers

Recommendations: 1. Short cycle culture is more appropriate for farmers;

no aeration needed;2. Increase the depth, reduce the gher size to rduce

risk of oxygen;3. Probiotics may help to reduce the bottom filaments,

might consider in future;4. Monitoring of water quality variables needs to

intensified.

galda fry needs to be emphasized;2. Zooplankton is also WSSV carrier, so needs

to eliminate before stocking of larvae; 3. Needs to consider closed aquaculture

system to avoid the WSSV out break.

Project Title: Studies on the breeding biology and seed production technique of corsula mullet (Rhinomugil corsula; Rahman, 1974)

should be emphasized, while nursery needs to be discarded or incorporated in a separate project.

University needs to be considered in citation;

2. Whole coastal belt needs to be incorporated (eg, Patuakhali, Barguna, Bhola, Noakhali, ect) for proper assessment and documentation of the mud crab resources in Bangladesh.

1. Research on brackishwater mud ell (chuchia) breeding could be proposed;

2. Breeding of other brackishwater commercial species should be considered in future;

3. Demo farms with emphasized on “Diversification of crops depending agro-ecological conditions”, especially depending on salinity levels could be initiated.
