The purpose of this position is to supervise jobs and staff, service and repair heavy vehicles such as agricultural tractors, implements, excavators, lawn / turf care and motorbikes or any other machine as directed to a high standard.

Skills & Experience • Relevant trade qualification • Experience with managing staff would be an advantage • Knowledge of vehicle engines , structure and drivelines • Knowledge of vehicle electronics • Knowledge of Land Transport Safety Authority regulations and safety standards • Mechanical skills including the ability to diagnose mechanical problems • People and communication skills • Computer skills. Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Service Foreman

• Supervise the workshop jobs and staff • Provide technical support to the Service team • Provide technical advice to clients • Assist with training apprentices • Provide backup support to the Service Manager Service and Repair

• Inspect and diagnose vehicles and machinery, then be able to communicate findings to service manager or client

• Diagnose repair or replace defective components on heavy vehicles and machinery as required to an operable high standard of repair

• Adjust or set mechanical controls or components • Apply diesel technology • Use electrical or electronic test devices or equipment • Use engine and hydraulic diagnostic equipment • Use hand or power tools • Lubricate machinery, equipment or parts • Assemble, dismantle or reassemble equipment or machinery • Maintain repair records • Move or fit heavy objects • Read and understand service or repair manuals • Use precision measuring devices in mechanical repair work • Use soldering equipment • Operate tractor with accessories or attachments • Ready machinery for sale or display General

• Clean work environment on job completion or as directed by supervisor • Keep company vehicle in a warrantable state of repair and services up to date . • Vehicle to be cleaned weekly • Vehicle to be used in a lawful manner • Attend breakdowns and after-hours call outs as required • Attend training schools as required and keep updated with technical knowledge • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times . Health & Safety

• Regularly assess activities conducted, to identify any significant hazards. • Put an action plan in place in conjunction with the Service Foreman/Manager to control

hazards by eliminating, isolating or minimizing them. • Record all actions taken. • Record all injury events and/or near misses • Ensure protective clothing and safety equipment provided is worn at all times as

appropriate to your current working situation and is in good working order. • Notify the Service Foreman/Manager of any accidents and/or near misses you, or others

in your care, are involved in, as soon as possible following the event; • Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies. • Observe and conduct safe work practises
