Activity Since November 2002 Workshop: The Maine legislature amended the state water quality standards for dissolved oxygen (DO) standards in riverine impoundments.

Remaining Actions: Need WQC (due Feb. 2004).

Androscoggin River, ME, 31.12 MW (three developments), filed 1991 (FPL Energy Maine Hydro LLC), relicense

Activity Since November 2002 Workshop: Maine legislature amended the state water quality standards for measuring DO in riverine impoundments. Subsequently, Maine DEP initiated a process to establish site-specific criteria for measuring compliance with DO standards in Gulf Island Pond.

Remaining Actions: Need WQC (due Sept. 2004).

Project is new to the list: FEA issued June 2002. ESA consultation completed Aug. 2002. WQC request withdrawn and refiled Jan. 2003. Staff issued letter Oct. 30, 2003, requesting status of settlement negotiations. Response filed Nov. 28, 2003.

Remaining Actions: Settlement agreement expected in April 2004. Need WQC (expected following settlement agreement).

Remaining Actions: Need comprehensive agreement, pursuant to project-specific legislation.
