FORM, Moscow 2011: I worked on a lot of interior design projects, realised an art installation learned how to make drafts and manage building processes. The Biggest project was the renovation of a constructivistic building into the main office for the garage center of contemporary art.
Eugene Asse Architects, Moscow 2012-2013: I worked in this office as a landscape designer for the renovation of PARK MUSEON a sculpture garden of 20 Ha which has organically grown since the fall of communism and has recently been transformed into a park for a broader scope of cultural activities.

Robbrecht en Daem Architecten, Gent, April-May 2014: During the fixed period of approximately one month I worked together with Robbrecht en Daem architecten and my wife on the competition for a new museum of contemprorary art in a former cinema building ( udarnik ), my wife in Moscow I in Gent. The collaboration with robbrecht and daem was challenging in a sense of concept development and finding the right architectural representation that could express our ideas about the

The building was completed in 1931 by the
architect Boris Iofan, who later won the competition for the palace of the

After the fall of communism the building soon became left unused. In 2014 a competition was initiated to transform the former cinema into
a museum for contemporary art.

After working at Robbrecht en Daem architecten on the competition of Udarnik I had the chance to work on a challenging project for the realisation of 800 apartments, called the white. The white was a challenging project. How do you deal with such a massive programme without breaking with the scale and aeriness of a coastal resort like Ostend? The solution was in breaking with the rigidy of mass produced housing thus creating a more organic building that somehow can relate itself to the natural shape of coastal cliff.
From the translation of a dream to realisation, in a team of six people I was involved in the proces of
spatial planning of apartments in the white, taking in consideration the programmatic requirements, complex building structure, the per apartment quality of views, light admittance, effect of the wind organisation of vertical elevator shafts and piping.
If you’re building so high every decision made per apartment may affect the appearance of the complex the internal organisation of the whole both vertically and horizontally and this made the design of the white a challenging task.

Kaaistraat & Sint Franciscusstraat
realization of residential complex with 37 apartmentsOstend, Belgium
Project Architect A1 Planning Architecten
The design of the Kaaistraat deals with a set of complex contextual variables.
A narrow site and strict building regulations, combined with the am-bition to realize 37 apartments and the existence of heritage on the site which building volume is in a poor condition.
Inspired by the surrounding 19th century tradition of building houses in twins or small ensembles we decided to subdivide the facades in a logical order of tree times two buildings arranged around a central staircase and elevator.
The concept of twins creates a diversificated impression, thereby integrates in its urban context, and simultaniously applies repitition of elements to garantee a maximum quality within a limited budget.

The house on a slope was a comission that I did together with my wife in the spring of 2013.
contextual anticipation
Surrounded by a highway from the one side and a green valley on the other side the main challenge in the design was to deal with contextual qualities and treats use it in order to make a good architecture.
The house is designed as a long rectangular in order to effectively reduce noise from traffic.

park museonMoscow, Russian Federation
designerAsse Architects, Moscow
2013
After years of research in the Moscow Architectural institute Eugene Asse, one of Moscows most prominent Architects was comissioned by the Rus-
sian department of culture to redesign the Museon Park in the center of Moscow city.
The Museon park was initially designed as a garden for the Central house of Artists that houses a part of Moscows tretyakov gallery and a commercial
programme of galleries and space for annual events.
In the 90’s the park became a memory of the city as all political statues that survived the fall of Russian Communism were moved to this location and
the park was rezoned (never designed) as a sculptural garden.
Now 20 years after an organical transformation from garden to sculptural city park the reconstruction adds quality to a
valuable piece of public space for Moscows inhabitants.
40
41
Park Museon was originally designed as a entourage for the central house of artists, a large cultural institution. In the 90’s Museon gradually trans-
formed in a backyard for Moscow’s old Soviet sculptures. By adding new functions and giving dedicated space to existing ones structure and income
was provided.

Now the infrastructure of Park museon exists of an overload of very wide asphalted roads. By reducing the amount of roads and transforming asphalt into stone and stone/gravel paths the maintainance costs of roads can be reduced. Adidionally to the grid like structure a series of smaller pathways “gati” was added to create an other experience of moving trough the park.

Garage office, museum of contemporary art2012
Olya Treiwas, Masha Zlobina, Crispijn van Sas designer for FORM
In the fall of 2011 FORM was comissioned to make the design for the office of the Garage museum in Gorki park. The building used
to be designed as a drydock for shipbuilding by the architect Alexey Schusev was redesigned in the 20’s to fit the new programme of a
cinema.
During the design proces I took part in the decisionmaking during the conceptual stage, was responsible for the drafting of electricity and sanitary plans and designed costum made objects including the reception desk, spiral stair that was added to make use of the
attic, and the garderobe.

Klaksvik Finger printsCompetition design
designer inFORM, moscow
Competition for a cultural centre inKlaksvik was held in 2012.
Being part of the faroe islands, klaksvik maintains its own identity, however economically operates within a network of villages, called a regional town.
the sheme on the right showsan overview of the specialities.

The Fingerprints project is an imprint- reflec-tion of the town Klaksvik, with its reserved nordic beauty, strong winds and people, who mostly consist of fishermen in many generations.
The project unites four distinct areas — a community centre, residential area, hotel and transport hub.
The community centre is an artificial green hill, a new form of town square, surrounded by public buildings. The town centre is completely pedestrian. All transport is con-centrated next to the Klaksvik marina, on the site of a former parking lot, and includes a bus terminal, parking, and ferry quay. The hill will provide refuge from strong winds coming in from the bay during large public events. Towards the bay, it will form an amphitheatre for hosting festivals and concerts.

BIG MAMM

Two weeks before the end of
new year the chief architect came to me with some good and bad news
( russian christmas starts from the 1st of jan ). We had a new comission for an art installation in a museum and the bad news was that it had to
be designed and completed within 2 weeks in order to shine during the russian chrismas holidays. The director of the museum in fact commissioned us to design an artistic
interpretation of a christmas tree for children workshops so that their creations could find their place. We thought about it. What if the branches of the trees would be made of climbing ropes
and if the needles would become helium baloons? The concept then would become that as soon as a kid would put inside her/his creation the tree would give a baloon
in exchange. After two weeks the tree would slowly transform form a white tree into a colorful one
filled with kids works creations.

True CitiesBook publication
Charlie Koolhaas, Crispijn van Sas
In february 2012 I was working with Charlie Koolhaas on the editing of a book which adressed the globaliza-tion and the increasing footprint that lefts behind. A dense patchwork of
images which Charlie collected during the last years of intensive
travelling connects seamingly different worlds.
Our collaboration included the intensive task of organising the vast database of images and structuring it in a way that images interrelated to others would deliver clear messages within the thematics of the book as well as exhibition design for a event
in Einhoven university.

Based on earlier experience in the Lecture and Debate comission I was selected as a Student Assi-tent for Michiel Riedijk. It was a unique chance to develop the organisational skills that are involved with the preparation of a symposium.
Architecture as a Craft was held in order to raise the debate about the definition of archi-tecture in modern times where the architects position changed and the introduction of new techiques broadended up the possibilities within the architec-tural profession.
