Windows organizes folders and files in ahierarchy or file system.

Windows stores the folders and importantfiles it needs to turn on the computer in itsroot directory.

Folders stored within other folders areknown as subfolders.

Moving file from one location toanother

1. Select file that to be moved

2. Click Edit menu

3. Go to Move To Folder option

here) will be opened

2. Select location o which the file or

folder to be moved

3. New folder can be created on the

selected location by clicking Make

New Folder option.

moved in it.

Copying file from one location toanother

The procedure similar to that ofMovingfile from one location to another can befollowed forCopying file from one locationto another. But instead ofMove To Folder,

selectCopy To Folder option. Further activities remains same

Difference between moving andcopying a file or folder

In moving operation, the file or foldercompletely displaced from its originalposition to the selected location.

While in case of copying, the selected fileor folder remains at its original location and

its duplicated gets created at the selectedlocation.
