Smoking Smoking in hospital is discouraged. Within some ward areas there is a designated smoking area - FOR PATIENTS ONLY. It is dangerous to smoke near oxygen. SMOKING IS BAD FOR EVERYONE'S HEALTH Visitors are not permitted to smoke anywhere on the hospital premises. For safety do not give matches to patients or leave your relative/friend smoking unattended. (From an NHS Hospital Info website on 5th June 2010)
