Voluntary certification schemes - AE
1. MARD Order no. 690/2004
Simple, voluntary, free of charge procedure:
APPLICATION include the following elements
product name; method of production elements to provide assessment of
traditional; description of the product the minimum requirements and
procedures for verification and control
Beneficiaries:
• authorized individuals• family associations• limited liability companies• economic associations and
joint stock companies

Set the conditions and criteria for attesting traditional products
3850 traditional products are attested nationwide at the end of 2011
2. Specific EU quality schemes PDO PGI TSG protect product names from misuse and imitation
GD. 828/2007establishes authorities responsible for • checking documentation - MARD• checking the labeling and use of market logo - NAPC• Control and inspection of the documentation - private inspection and certification bodies (accredited according to EU Standard EN 45011)
MARD Order 906/2007 establishes procedures for:• registration for (PGI or PDO)• national opposition• for transmitting documents to the EC• Specific rules on the model and use the national logo

EU: 1000 registered names, d.c. 1 PGI Romanian product
