Jodie, talk us through a typical day.No two days are the same, as each person requires different support and enjoys doing a wide range of things. A typical day will revolve around what the individual wants to do.

Morning tasks include ensuring that the person is showered and dressed for the day ahead. We’ll also support people to have breakfast, advising them on what is healthy.

We’ll then discuss what the person would like to do and make arrangements for that to happen.

We try and incorporate exercise into the morning and afternoon, even if it just means walking to where an activity is.

People at the service I work at are very active, so the evening may involve going to the gym or cycling – it’s their choice.

What do you like most about your work?I really enjoy seeing people reach their goals. The service I work at has only been open a short time and the difference it’s made to the people there is amazing. It is very rewarding knowing that you have played a part in supporting someone to achieve their ambition.
