SPRINGBOARD TO SPEAKER STYLE Q&A

You don’t need to be a fashionista to know how to elevate your personal brand on stage or in video. You just need to be aware that you are sending the right message and look aspirational for the audience and situation. Afterall, they want to look at you as a leader in your field.

Your stage style is an extension of your personal style with special nuances to look best in the medium. If your everyday style isn’t up to par, it will only be exaggerated on stage.

If you don’t look relevant, what comes out of your mouth and your credentials will not be perceived as being relevant either. Most important, when you are confident in the visual message that you are sending it shows in your attitude and in how you are perceived, that is directly aligned with your earning potential.

Since we live in a visual world and once you stand on stage or on camera, you are perceived as a celebrity, how we present ourselves in business is critical to our success.

Let’s begin by assessing your style so you can see what needs to be modified or elevated to convey the right message when you want to be seen as the pro you are!

SPRINGBOARD TO SPEAKER STYLE Q&A

You need to look like a success to charge like you’re successful. When you compare yourself to industry leaders, can you honestly say that you can stand shoulder to shoulder in image perception as a national or global expert in your field?

Tip: Create a Pinterest board of industry leaders that you admire and compare how you show up in their presence.

7.

Imagine where would you like to be a year from now in how you present yourself and in the image that you project? Be as descriptive as possible.

Ex- I would feel confident that I look like I’m worth it to close a 6-figure pay day. I would feel chic and successful to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those whom I admire, I would feel that I am ready to pursue my dreams, etc.

9.

Everything you wear and how you look needs to compliment your brand. How does your dress, hair and makeup stand up to your visual brand message? Where do you need improvement?

Tip: This includes not only elevating your authentic style but toning down anything is distracting to your credibility.

Is your stage style stuck in a rut or time warp? Do you look modern, ahead of the curve and forward-thinking?

Tip: Looking dated in your appearance suggests that you are backward in your ability.

If you think that no one will notice or care about how you present yourself, you are lying to yourself. People notice and make a first impression based on your look.
