New MPL Drive-thru Opens!
You now have a way to pick up your books, videos
and more from MPL without even leaving your car.
The drive-thru at our Main Library opened on Thurs-
day, July 28.
You can now put items on hold—either by calling the
library or on our website, www.mentorpl.org—and
specify that you want to pick them up at the drive-
thru.
The drive-thru will open each day at the same time as the Main Library
and will close 15 minutes before the library does each evening. This will
ensure that all patrons in the drive-thru line get their items before the
building closes.
Along with the drive-thru, we’ve made some changes to the traffic flow
around our Main Library. The drive-thru lane is now exit only. Also, driv-
ers will only be able to turn right from the drive-thru onto Mentor Avenue
to prevent traffic backup.
To celebrate its opening, the library will give a free MPL mug, pedometer
and memory stick to the first three patrons who use the drive-thru each
day from July 28 through 31.
Words on Wheels
MPL Homebound Service
Congratulations to our Words on
Wheels patron Doris Lanese for
having checked out over 1000
items through our home delivery!
Every month the library delivers
books, movies and music to pa-
trons throughout Mentor, Mentor-
on-the-Lake and Mentor Head-
lands. Homebound patrons who
are unable to come into the library
for their materials have the oppor-
tunity to request items or have our
professional staff choose materials
based on their interests. This ser-
vice, called Words on Wheels, al-
lows you to continue checking out
the latest books, movies, audio-
books and CDs, even if you can-
not come to pick them out your-
self.
Words on Wheels is available to
all age groups (children through
senior citizens) who are temporari-
ly or permanently homebound. We
deliver to both individual resi-
dences and group homes, bringing
the library to you!
Interested in signing up for Words
on Wheels? It's as simple as a
phone call. Please contact Mere-
dith Tomeo at (440) 255-8811,
ext. 204 to inquire about delivery.
