WORDFAST CLASSIC COURSE: PRETORIA, 1214 AUGUST 2013

Esme Greenfield, Marietjie Delport and Wilna Liebenberg are presenting a 3-day introductory courseon the use of Wordfast Classic (WFC) in Pretoria on the above dates. We work on a ratio of onepresenter to two students in order to ensure through personal attention that the program is adequatelyreinforced.

Wordfast is a translation memory programme that will enable you to translate more words in the sameamount of time, thereby increasing your translation speed and your ability to earn more. This user-friendly programme will also help you translate more consistently within a document, over severaldocuments and even over several projects.

In addition to the translation memory function, it also has a glossary function for storing and retrievingterminology. The glossaries and translation memories can be shared with other translators as well, which is very helpful if you are working on a project with a colleague.

Wordfast has many benefits and is very affordable (currently 200 for a 3-year licence, with a licencerenewal cost of100 after the 3 years). As Esme, Marietjie and Wilna are registered as trainers withWordfast, paid-up course members of EMW Courses receive a further discount of60 when we

register you as a student with Wordfast.

The main benefits reported by WFC users are the following:

    1. WFC works as an add-in in MS Word, so your regular MS Word shortcuts, spell checkers, etc.are available as usual.

    2. You can translate MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents with WFC.3. The programme is extremely user-friendly and the developers website, forums and support

service are easily accessible and helpful.4. You can search through hundreds of previously translated documents with the click of a button.5. The incidence of translations lost due to power failures, unsaved documents, corrupt

documents or system failures is dramatically reduced, since the work you have done is storedin your translation memory.
