Bishop Dale C. Bronner, D. Min.

G od is the owner of everything. We own nothing, but God has made us stewards over the earth. Stewardship is our re-

sponsibility to manage the life and property God entrusts to us with regard to the rights of others. We don’t own children, yet God entrusts us with the stewardship of their love. I believe a primary reason God blessed Abraham to have a child of his own when he was nearly 100 years old is because he had been faithful with other people’s children. Remember, he trained 318 servants in his household. Nowadays, it is hard to find a faithful man or woman. Notice what Jesus said about faith-fulness: “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much” (Luke 16:10). Then He added, “And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?” (Luke 16:12). God holds high expectations for His chil-dren and demands that we practice faithful-ness and good stewardship in several areas. We must be faithful stewards of our time. The greatest gift you can offer another human be-ing involves your time. When you give a per-son your time, you are presenting them with an element of your life you can never reclaim. You can earn more money, but you cannot manufacture more time. That’s why it is such a precious gift. Secondly, we must be faithful stewards of our talent. Sydney Smith said, “Whatever you are by nature, keep to it; never desert your line of talent. Be what nature intended you for and you will succeed.” We need to ask our-selves the question, “What have I done with the talent God has given me?” Did you de-velop your talent or did you hide it because you were fearful someone would criticize or ridicule you? Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with your talent becomes your

gift back to God! Thirdly, we must be faithful stewards of our treasure. Our treasure is our money or the things that we value. Abraham was obviously an excellent and faithful steward of his treasure because he grew to be a wealthy man. If you want to know whether or not you are responsible with money, look at your credit score and report. Many people ask the Lord to bless them fi-nancially, yet they have no self-control over their spending. Why would God place more into the hands of a person who can’t handle what they already have? Fourthly, we must be faithful in what be-longs to another person. If we want people to help us fulfill our vision, we must first be faithful in helping fulfill someone else’s vi-sion. This is the law of retribution—you reap what you sow. You do not reap what you in-tended to sow, you only reap what you sow! So if you want to one day run your own busi-ness, help someone else be successful in their business. Finally, we must be faithful in small things. We reveal our character in how we handle and treat small things. When we are faithful in that which is least, God will make us ruler over much! So let’s start with simply being faithful with our thoughts and then our words. Faithful thoughts produce faithful words. Faithful words generate faithful acts. Faithful acts form faithful habits. Faithful habits mold faithful character. Faithful char-acter matures us into a faithful destiny! So let’s be faithful people, and let’s start with the little things that are entrusted to us! Faithful children grow to be faithful men and women. So let’s start small and work our way up! God blesses and promotes faithfulness!

F rom time to time, we encounter moments during our life span that change our lives due to the emotions

evoked from our experiences. In this instance, the moment was Word Of Faith’s “Seven Day Prayer Consecration” that took place during the week of July 16-22, 2007. During this time, hour long prayer sessions were held daily. The morning sessions were always lead by Bishop Dale C. Bronner and the afternoon and evening sessions were lead by staff, intercessors, or a representative from the Operation P.U.S.H Ministry. Dr. Jason Thomas described the atmosphere as being filled with the spirit of God. He said that, “this was a phenomenal experience and not just an event.” Based on the ambiance, he could truly sense the presence of God. Just to give you a glimpse into the depths of the “Seven Day Prayer Consecration”, a heart felt testimony is shared with you below. While remaining in the same position, for seven years, as a PBX operator, Kristia Simon prayed and trusted God for a promotion at work. She knew that seven represented the number of completion, so she ultimately came to the conclusion that she would have to leave the company in an effort to advance her career opportunities. Under the assumption that she was to be promoted last year, Kristia assumed the duties and responsibilities of the much anticipated job. Because nothing was official, Kristia’s pay remained the same. She was doing more work for the same pay, but she remained faithful to the job. As a

result, she was recognized by her manager as well as the person training her for the job. To make matters worse, Kristia found out in June that she would have to reapply and interview for the job that she had already been doing for the last year. After enduring a three hour interview, weeks went by, and Kristia did not hear any more about the position. Leading up to the “Seven Day Prayer Consecration”, Kristia faced it with pure excitement for she knew there would be some kind of breakthrough in her life concerning her job. She was uncertain to the extent of the change that would take place. On the first day of the prayer consecration, Kristia received a letter from human resources proposing a salary offer. Not satisfied with the salary amount, she spoke to her manager about it. On the second day of the prayer consecration, the offer was increased. Wow! To sum it up, Kristia thanks God for Bishop’s anointing and obedience. From this trying experience, she truly understands that her blessings are on the other side of inconvenience! This testimony has truly reinforced Bishop Bronner’s teaching that “Victory Is On The Other Side of Inconvenience”. During uncomfortable moments, continue to trudge through the trenches and know that God has a blessing for you.

T uberculosis, commonly know as TB, is an infection caused by the mi-croorganism, Mycobacterium tuber-

colis. Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a slow-growing bacteria which flourishes in areas of the body rich in oxygen and blood. TB most often affects the lungs (pulmonary TB) but can spread through the bloodstream and infect other parts of the body (extra-pulmonary TB), such as the brain, kidney, spine and lymph nodes. Tuberculosis can be latent (dormant) or active. Latent TB is not contagious, how-ever latent TB can later develop into active TB. Symptoms may include: persistent, pro-ductive cough, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, fatique, night sweats, fever and difficulty breathing. Symptoms of extrapul-monary TB vary depending on which area of the body is infected. For example, the symptom of back pain may be manifested with TB in the spine. Extrapulmonary TB is not easily spread to others. Active pulmonary TB is very con-tagious. Contagion occurs when air contain-ing TB causing bacteria is forcibly expelled from the lungs (coughing, sneezing, etc. of a person who has the active disease), then in-haled by another person. Inhaling TB bacteria does not automati-cally give you TB. A healthy immune sys-tem will fight the infection by encasing the bacteria into tiny capsules. The bacteria re-mains alive, but will not spread to surround-ing tissues or to other people. This is the la-tent stage. If a person’s immune system ever becomes weakened and is unable to prevent

the bacteria from spreading, the active stages of TB will occur. Health conditions that may cause a person’s immune sys-tem to weaken are: HIV, cer-tain cancers, or diabetes not under proper control. Individu-als taking medications contain-ing corticosteroids for an extended period of time, and organ donor re-cipients taking medication to prevent organ rejection have a compromised immune sys-tem. Women who have recently given birth, newborns, the elderly, and individuals who are 10% or more under their healthy body weight also have weakened immune systems. Other factors that can cause a weakened im-mune system includes: the abuse of drugs or alcohol and inadequate access to health care. TB is more likely to spread when people are in close living quarters such as: hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, homeless shelters, and military barracks. Latent TB is most commonly diagnosed when there is a positive reaction to a tubercu-lin skin test. With the tuberculin skin test, a small amount of tuberculin is actually injected under the skin. A positive reaction would be a red, hard bump at the needle site within 2 to 3 days after the test. This reaction should be as-sessed by a health professional. Active TB is most commonly diagnosed with a sputum culture (testing mucus from the lungs). More extensive testing is required for diagnosing extrapulmonary TB. An MRI may be used to look for TB in the brain or spine,

(Continued on page 7)

while a sample of cerebrospinal fluid (fluid around the spine) may be used to look for a TB infection in the brain (TB meningitis). A urine culture may be used to determine a TB infection in the kidneys (renal TB) or a bi-opsy may be done of an affected area. A CT scan may be used to diagnose miliary TB (TB that has spread throughout the body). Tuberculosis is treated with a combina-tion of antibiotics to kill the TB bacteria. People who have latent TB are also treated in order to prevent the infection from be-coming active. Treatment can last up to 9 months and is usually successful if adhered to. Generally, after 2 weeks of antibiotic treatment, active pulmonary TB cannot be spread to others, however the person with the TB infection must continue his/her treat-

(Continued from page 6)

ment. Not adhering to the medication regi-men can delay a cure and cause a relapse. If this happens, you may need to start the treatment over. If the full course of treat-ment is not taken, antibiotic-resistant strains of the bacteria can develop, which then makes treatment more difficult. If left un-treated, TB can be fatal. All TB cases are reported to the local or state health departments because the disease can cause outbreaks. If you experience any of the aforemen-tioned symptoms, or have been exposed to someone with active TB, contact your health professional to get a tuberculosis skin test. Resource: WebMD

Reflections of a Spiritual Journey

A book written by Robbie Bronner, the matriarch of Bronner

Brothers Hair Care Company in Atlanta

M andated by God to write the book of her life’s spiritual journey and her family, Robbie Bronner tells the stories of

the lineage, the “CONNECTIONS” of her family and that of her soul mate, husband and friend, Nathaniel H. Bronner, Sr. Their marriage was the merger of the strengths of two small town Georgia family values and heritage. Those connecting heritages are entrepreneurship, business and four generations of preachers. In the book CONNECTIONS, Robbie Bronner tells stories of life’s lessons and family experiences that are provocative, honest and transparent. Stories that reveal her family’s strengths, sorrows and sadness. The book is about an American family and tells, in vivid

details, of her successful marriage, rules of their house, the births of their six sons, their early years and youthful experiences. Stories of how her sons sought their wives and the growth of the family business, Bronner Brothers Hair Care Company. Robbie Bronner answers the most asked question of her: “How did you and Mr. Bronner rear six wonderful and successful sons?” The spirit of the Lord has guided Robbie Bronner in the writing of this book and His presence is reflected throughout, spiritually and in scripture. What have you done with the talents I’ve given you? She has written hundreds of stories of events in her life’s journey. The book CONNECTIONS is a book of warm delightful colorful stories and includes family portraits and a guide to help the readers in their own homes. All lessons remain true to the principle of God first, Family second, and Business third.

CONNECTIONS will speak to you, your children and your grandchildren.

I n the past, Word Of Faith had several branches of ministry for children of all ages. These included Harvest Seed (infants to age 6), Kids for Christ (ages 7 to 13), and Sunday School (all ages.) As a result, parents and teachers expressed concerns in the following areas:

consistency with the curriculum, the need for better trained teachers, teacher availability, more effective classroom management and teacher-student ratio. Recently, all of the children’s ministries were converted under one umbrella and has now reopened as Word of Faith Children’s Ministry. This new concept brought positive changes including classrooms designed by age and gender, more creative and engaging lessons and more focused teachers. The reconstruction of the children’s ministry is defined as “encouraging, equipping and empowering today’s children to become tomorrow’s leaders.” Children’s Ministry is also proud to introduce; “Graduation/ Passing the Baton” as it seeks to inspire the children on each level. Students transitioning from early/middle school years to high school are given the opportunity to teach what they've been taught and to sow into the soil from which they came. Ministry Leader, Mia Williams shared the following statistics concerning the patronage of Children’s Ministry:

• 700 families use Children’s Ministry. • 390 children per Sunday attend; ages 0-13. • 153 persons on the ministry roster, only 45 committed workers

serve.

R ecognizing all the love and wisdom that seniors possess, Florence Jackson

envisioned a ministry in which seniors could share a group and be a blessing to the Word of Faith Family and the community. Florence shared her vision with Edna Dillard, Peggie Wimby, Martha Johnson and Johnny Williams. God confirmed in their hearts also that there was much that seniors could contribute.

Florence spoke with Bishop Bronner who supported her vision and gave her blessing. Reverend John Williams and Reverend Reginald Garmon came up with the most fitting name and Reverend Williams was assigned to oversee the ministry.

The Seasoned Saints Ministry was officially organized during the first meeting at the home of Florence Jackson in September, 1998. There were five charter members present: Florence Jackson, Edna Dillard, Martha Johnson, Johnny Williams and Peggie Wimby. There are currently 53 members of the Seasoned Saints Ministry.

The mission of the Seasoned Saints Ministry is to prayerfully, in accordance to

God’s Word, abide, assist, and support the fulfillment of Bishop Bronner’s vision for the church. Specifically, they are blessed to be a blessing!

“Phenomenal Hats Luncheon”

Seasoned Saints celebrated their 9th

anniversary on Saturday, October 6, 2007. This spectacular event was attended by nearly 100 women donned with feathers, bows and colorful brims. Dr. Linda Chinn was the guest speaker for the occasion. Ministry Leader, Florence Jackson shared this timely message with the guests, “be reminded that the gifts of the spirit are 9 in number. In colloquial terms, may you be blessed to the “9’s” with love, joy, peace, patience, self-control, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and kindness.”

If you have completed your new members classes, and are interested in becoming a part of this exciting ministry contact the Seasoned Saints!

O n October 9, 2007, the Word Of Faith Life Training Center at 212 Riverside Parkway became the new boiling point

for entrepreneurship as approximately 200 current and aspiring business owners gathered for a special Bronner Business Institute (BBI) Kingdom Connections Networking Event. The event featured three legends from the hair care industry Joe Dudley, founder and CEO of Dudley Products, Bernard Bronner, president and CEO of Bronner Brothers, and Bronner family matriarch Robbie Bronner as guest speakers, but the night belonged to the finalists in the BBI 2007 $25,000 Business Plan Competition. All eyes were upon them to witness who would be crowned the grand prize winner and take home the big check to advance their business. After recognizing the 2nd Runner Up, Scott McZeal of Urban Koncepts Consulting, LLC and 1st Runner Up, Monica Coleman of Creative Connections Mobile Barber Shop, the president of BBI, Deacon Alfred Watkins, called for an audience drum roll as he announced Sandi Spells, founder and CEO of Sandi Spells Design as this year’s grand prize winner. The room erupted with cheers, shouts of praise, and tears of joy. Sandi Spells composed herself to deliver a memorable acceptance speech, telling her testimony of how the hand of God was at work throughout her life leading up to that moment. She traced her path from her days as a child at Wheat Street Baptist Church where the Bronner family were members and her grandmother made an early Kingdom connection by instructing Sandi to “stay close” to a young Dale C. Bronner. She would later join Word Of Faith, enroll in the BBI NxLeveL™ class, become valedictorian of

her NxLeveL™ class, and hear from her daughter Savannah that “You’re going to win!” Sandi Spells Design is a company that specializes in unique, custom invitations. The 51 original entrants into this year’s competition represented a wide spectrum of business categories. The contestants had to submit a business plan by a certain date and anxiously await the announcement of whether their plan scored well enough to get them into the final round of 12 to compete for the grand prize of $25,000. The BBI Top 12 then were given the opportunity to “pitch” their plan live in front of a panel of judges for no more than 15 minutes, and based upon their performance and the fundability of their business plan, the judges selected the winner. The Bronner Business Institute is a member organization whose mission is to transform lives by discipling business champions. BBI offers bi-monthly Kingdom Connections networking events, bi-annual NxLeveL™ training courses for micro-entrepreneurs, technical assistance with business loans, and a host of business resources to its members. A DVD of the October 9th Kingdom Connections event is available from BBI via telephone order (770-874-8400 ext.1105) or online order via the BBI website, www.nhbbi.org.
