A word from our tweedless DC .… !For all those who have read the article in the Telegraph or Horse and Hound, I hope you don’t all see me as military, wearing tweed, scary and old fashioned????? We have another fun packed programme and are always happy to hear your ideas. The PC logo is work in progress and we have been told to carry on using our own colours and the old logo for as long as we wish. We are ahead of Pony Club HQ and already have a great selection of clothing available (see Jayne’s Pictures!!) including onesies, which are a great Camp favourite. We will embrace the new colour pallet especially at Camp and will put it to our members as to the colours they want to use.#

We have some great rallies planned for you and I hope as many as possible will attend the Easter Egg Rally on 6th April. We are advertising this as a Taster Day for new members, so if you have anybody you would like to bring along then please book the them in, in the normal way. For our older members we have a great opportunity to use the Worcestershire team chase course on 1 May. The fences are all 2’9 and over, but this is a great chance to practice over some new and demanding fences.#

We also have a set up day on Branch Field (details attached) - 2pm to 4pm April 5. I do hope as many of you as possible can turn up, adults and kids, to set up the jumps and sort out the XC fences. Camp is around the corner and if you would like to help you will need to get a first-aid qualification and your DBS check done, so please contact Lisa May to get these organised. #

So much of our updates our on Facebook, so please do join and encourage all over 14’s to do so as well. We are happy to email them info if we have their address so please let Kate Farmaloe know their details.#

Eventing

Novice, Intermediate, Open Eventing 2016 #

We are very much looking forward to the new season starting, There will be lots of training opportunities and rallies over the year with top instructors and these will be open to all.#If you are interested in joining any of the Eventing teams - Novice, Intermediate or Open, please forward your childs name , age - horses name, age and height and which section you would like to compete in. Criteria for Novice eventing. To be competent at 90cms and before Area competitions to have completed events at PC level 3 or BE 90cms. Show jumping max height 95 cms max spread 1.00m. #

Criteria for Intermediate eventing. To be competent at 1.00m XC and before Area competitions to have completed events at PC level 4 or BE 100.#

Criteria for Open eventing. To be competent at 1.10 XC and have completed events at either PC level 5 (open) or BE Novice before Areas 2015 - SJ height 1.15 (max Height) 1.20 (max spread).#

July 23 is the date for the Area Eventing competition and for those wishing to compete may I remind you that you will need to have done 2 Rallies this year and 2 clear rounds XC in the appropriate height that you wish to compete.#

We will be holding a dressage session nearer the time for Area Competitions which will be held at Chestnut Farm Boreley, Ombersley, WR9 0HX - this will consist of - warm up by coach in manage with mirrors, then onto grass dressage arena (prepared) for full test practice with coaching. Details later on.#

Test Training !Test Training for Tests E, D, D+ and C. !Saturday 9 April, depending on the weather at Branch field or Wards Farm. !Sunday 8 May at branch field. !Cheques for £8.00 riding and/or £5.00 stable management per test training, payable to WHBPC to Jennie Titterton, Callow Farm, Angel Street, Upper Bentley, Redditch, worcs, B975TA. At least 7 days before the test training date please. !C test and above training 2016 !We have 4 Sessions organised for those taking C Test in August, but these are also open to those taking C, C+ and B test later in the year as well. !20th of June riding only4th of July 18th of July1st August !Sessions will cover a mix of riding and stable management and you will be allocated to a group of your test level. The C testers are all also advised to book into the test training sessions already planned as above.!Mock C test 6 August time to be agreed.Camp 10 -14 August where we will do quite a lot of trainingC test - 17 August, probably 10:30 AMCosts for those taking C Test in August:Training including the mock £45The test £25 As an individual rally £12 for 1.5 hours.

Dressage

Because of a clash of dates, the next dressage rally at Middle Bean Hall, B96 6Rw, will now take place on 1 April from 10am, not 30th March. If you have already sent rally slips for the 30th, please email Kate Cooper at [email protected] and let me know if you can do the 1st instead.

If you have not yet entered and would like to please send you rally slip to me at Middle Bean Hall, Bradley Green, redditch Worcestershire B96 6RW, with a cheque for

£17.50 by Easter Monday.

Our new H&S officer Lisa May will be checking hats and body protectors at rallies to ensure they are up to the new standards

Anyone wishing to help at camp needs to have the DBS check which is a simple form that we need to send off, but it takes several weeks so we need to get them done now. Please contact Lisa so she can get things

Proposed first aid date is Thursday 7 April. The day will run 9.30 - 4.30pm (roughly) and will be held at Laura’s - Linacres, Egg

AREA 9/Competitions

Darrell Scaife Masterclass 2nd of April at Leyland Court

We are able to offer a fantastic opportunity to train with Darrell Scaife.

Darrel is a Fellow of the British Horse Society, a British Eventing National Coach, FEI coach, Chair of Selectors and Chef d'Equipe to GB Juniors and Zimbabwe Chef D'Equipe. Director of Riding at Stonar School.

We are running 1 hour sessions with Darrell focussed on the rider, position and style, at Leyland Court on the 2nd of April. The cost will be £35 in groups of 3 which is extremely good value for access to this highly experienced trainer.

Darrell is a clear and encouraging instructor, who makes the sessions enjoyable as well as highly informative and individual to you, as Director of Riding at Stonar school and BE Under 18 coach he is used to instructing riders of all ages.
