Abstract: Victoria R. Siarkiewicz was a Worcester native of Polish ancestry, a poet and writer ofarticles on Polish culture, heritage, history. She was prominent in many Worcester organizations,and was one of the founders of the Polish Woman's Club in Worcester.

Histor ical/Biographical Notes

Victoria R. (Bojanowski) Siarkiewicz was bom in Worcester, daughter of Frank and Frances(Romanowski) Bojanowski, and lived in Worcester all her life. Her husband, Atty. John J.Siarkiewicz, died in 1958.

She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, foimder and past prerident of the PolishWoman's Club, past chairman of the Worcester Citizens Committee on Displaced Persons, pastbook editor and publicity chairperson for the Worcester Woman's Club, and Chairman of theYWCA Intemational Fiesta for many years.

She was a graduate of Commerce High School, and attended Salter Secretarial School,Northeastem University, and Clark University. She received certification in conversationalFrench fi-om the Massachusetts Dept. of Education, and certification in library techniques fi*omClark University. In 1987 she received the World of Poetry "Golden Poet Award", and in 1990the "Silver Poet Award".

Mrs. Siarkiewicz was a research scholar on Poland, and wrote many articles and poems on Polishtraditions, culture, mid history. She also wrote a comprehensive history of Our Lady ofCzestochowa Church in 1953 on the occasion of its 50'*' anniversary.

The papers consist of photocopies of legal documents, ca. 1900; certificates and relateddocuments, ca. 1920-ca. 1950; letters, poems, articles written by Mrs. Siarkiewicz, ca. 1920-ca.1990; and related writings and documents, including obituary information written ca. 1999.
