MAJOR WORK ON PROJECTo Section 1 – South of Wales Road:
o Widening sub-standard shoulders and replacing deteriorating pavement.
o No change to the existing right-of-way or IR-75 centerline alignment.
o Section 2 – North of Wales Road:
o Correct deficient northbound sight distance and ramp deficiencies at Miami Street and South Avenue.
o Correct horizontal sight distance on IR-75 mainline north of Wales Rd.
o Correct railroad clearance, poor deck conditions and maintenance issues with Maumee River/Norfolk-
Southern Railroad/ South Ave Bridge.
o The above changes will require new road alignments.
o Right-of-way will be required near the South Ave and Miami Street interchanges

MAJOR WORK ON PROJECTo Construction Specifics
o Building of a more gradual curve of IR-75 between Wales Road and Miami Street.
o The IR-75 mainline spanning the Maumee River/Norfolk Southern Railroad/South Ave will be shifted 55 ft
to the west.
o The Miami St Interchange will utilize a diamond design with standard spacing between ramp intersections
on Miami St.
o The South Avenue entrance ramp to Southbound IR-75 will be rebuilt to current design standards.
o Addition of auxiliary lanes between Wales Rd and Miami St, and between Miami St and South Ave on IR-75
to improve operation.
o Installation of Noise Walls where warranted.
