Support the Production of our Bulletin
Producing our own bulletin allows us to meet the needs of
the three languages. If we were to send this bulletin out to
be produced, we would have to have one bulletin in Eng-
lish only for everyone and the publications of the Readings
in Italian and Spanish would have to come to an end. Help
us by Supporting our advertisers and also by placing
an ad in our bulletin for a year. Please call the office for
more information.

MASS INTENTIONS ADVENT My brothers and sisters, we are already in the second Sunday of our Advent journey. Let us keep going as we accompany our Blessed Mother Mary and Saint Joseph to Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus. This is a beautiful time to prepare ourselves to re-ceive Jesus into our hearts and families. It is really a special time of preparation for Christmas. The readings from the Sacred Scriptures this weekend, help us reflect in making sure that we are getting ready to welcome Jesus into our lives. The readings invite us to confess our sins, and to experi-ence God’s forgiveness. In the Gospel for this second Sunday of Advent, we see how God sent St. John the Baptist to prepare the people for the coming of Jesus. St. John’s message is the beautiful message of God’s mercy and forgiveness. He is calling all of us to change our lives. “Repent …Prepare the way of the Lord! Make his paths straight”. My dear friends, during this time let us try to exercise the sacrament of rec-onciliation. Our bulletin specifies the spe-cial days for confessions. Let us have a real sense of conversion, trusting in the mercy of God, acknowledging our sins, and look-ing to fill up our lives with good things. Have a blessed second Sunday of Advent. Christmas is near. Rev. Josue Vargas Lara
Healing Mass This coming Friday, December 15th at 7:00pm we have our Healing mass in which we administer the Sacrament of the Sick. This is a good opportunity to bring the elderly and the sick to receive this im-portant Sacrament of Healing. Following the mass we have the devotions to St. Ex-pedito. Everyone is welcome.
Children’s Liturgy We are looking for volunteers to assist with the children’s liturgy during the mass-es on Saturday at 5:00pm and Sunday at 11:00am. If you are interested please con-tact the parish office as soon as possible.

Planning to be a Catholic School Teacher?
It is critical for you to know that to be hired to teach in any Catholic School Board in Ontario as part of your applica-tion for employment you must provide a letter of recommendation from your Pas-tor. It is highly recommended to contact the pastor a year in advance, especially
in light of the fact that all universities make this matter known to every student at the beginning of the year. Please plan to have a conversation with your pastor early in the process (not the week before you are submitting your application) and you will avoid disappointment and stress at the time when applications are to be submitted. The following are required at St. Jude’s: Be (yourself, not your parents or
grandparents) a registered member of the parish using offertory envelopes (at least 1 year before the application).
Be in the parish for participation in Sunday/Saturday mass for a minimum of 12 months prior to approaching the pastor.
Make your request 3 months in ad-vance. Applicant must be the one mak-ing the requests.
No request by a relative or a parent will be accepted .
The pastor has to be able to recommend you, and that is only possible if he knows you at the basic level of regular mass attendance. Personal knowledge of the candidate’s faith practice is what the pas-tor needs to recommend, not your rela-tives, but yourself, as this is a personal recommendation not a family one.
Questions for Reflection:
How do you share John the Baptist’s mission to proclaim Christ’s coming into the world?
Do you do this with words or by the way you live?
How is John’s message of repentance and judgment different from that of Jesus?
