The Cozy Ambiance Of A RealFire… Without The Work!Even though the Fireside Franklinburns gas instead of wood, the flamesand radiant heat are real. The coals glow, the flames flicker and dance, and thestove actually heats just like a wood-stove. And all this ambiance andwarmth comes at the flick of a switch –with no chopping, splitting, or loadingof wood.

Each Fireside Franklin Is AWork of art. Like century old soapstone stoves whichhave an unmatched reputation for quali-ty, each Fireside Franklin is assembledby a single craftsperson. Part of the artof building soapstone stoves is the care-ful selection of pieces of stone whosegrain and color complement each other.Due to variations in the stone, eachstove is unique. An optional brassplaque is engraved with the date ofmanufacture and your name.

Installs Easily Almost AnywhereIn Your Home – No Chimney IsRequired. Our gas stoves use direct vent technology. This “pipe-within-a-pipe” system is usedto bring in fresh air for combustion and

it vents exhaust at the same time. Thedirect vent pipe has to go through a roofor an outside wall, but it does not needa chimney, which means that the stovecan be installed on almost any outsidewall. Low clearance requirements meanyou can safely install it close to a com-bustible wall or in a corner.

No Electricity Is Needed To Start OrOperate Our Gas Stoves. Our gas stoves are easy to start andoperate. They use a non-electric switchto start, and require no electricity tooperate. In fact, there are no electricalconnections to the stove - just the gasline. The gas stoves are designed to radi-ate heat forward, so no fans or motors areneeded to move heat. When bad weath-er hits, you don’t have to worry aboutstaying warm if the power goes off.

The Convenience Of Remote ControlOr A Wall Thermostat. You can use an optional hand-heldremote control or an optional wall ther-mostat to turn your gas stove on and off,and adjust the heat output. These batteryoperated controls will conserve fuel andkeep your home at an even temperatureregardless of the weather outside.

The Perfect Alternative To AWoodstove or FireplaceIdeal for homes where a woodstove or fireplace just isn’t practical, the FiresideFranklin combines contemporary, clean-burning gas technology with yesterday’s charm and traditional styling. The top of the stove has a cast iron griddlefor simmering soups and stews. The room is cheerful and warm!“The Franklin has become our main heatsource when we are home. Like I saidbefore, it makes the room cheerful andwarm. Everyone here loves it.”

John GehdeCassville, WI

It doesn’t need electricity...“It was easy to install. It puts out lots ofheat, so most of the time I keep it on low. I bought the stove because it doesn’t needelectricity. Here in Colorado snow stormsusually cause the electricity to go off, leaving us without heat, but not anymore!”

This is the most common installation. You may want toadjust the amount of pipe depending on the height atwhich the pipe goes through the wall and the distancefrom the back of the stove to the wall.

This option is often the choice of customers who prefer not to see the vent pipe. The length of black pipewill depend on the distance from the stove to the wall. The “snorkel” is the piece on the outside wall, and isnecessary to get enough rise to create adequate draft inall weather conditions.

The vent pipe can rise upto a maximum of 24’ inheight. This option is agood alternative when it isnot possible to terminatethe vent pipe by goingthrough a wall. The ventpipe must be galvanizedabove a roof or ceiling (to protect from rust andcorrosion). Two samplekits are listed below – one with a 24’ cathedralceiling, and anotherwhere the pipe goesthrough a flat ceiling andan attic space.

Note: Unlike woodstove chimneys, direct vent pipeextends above the roof only 12-24”, depending on roof pitch.

Woodstock SoapstoneThe warmth of wood without the work!

Beauty To BeholdOur gas stoves are meticulously handcraftedof polished soapstone and finely detailed castiron. Each stove is built by an individualcraftsman. And each stove is unique due tovariation in the grain and color of the soapstone. Compare with other stoves...you’ll see the difference in the details!

A Brilliant View Of The FireBecause we know woodstoves so well, muchtime and effort has been spent on producinga warm, glowing fire that looks so real thatfriends and family will swear they’re lookingat an actual woodburning fire.

No Wood, No Smoke, No Fuss! Now you can enjoy the charm of a wood firewithout the work. No wood to split, stack, orhaul. No fires to start. No ashes to disposeof. No stove to tend. And if the power goesout (usually the result of storms, when youneed the heat most) it’s no problem - because no electrical power is required!Whether you use the wall thermostat or theremote control, you can turn the fire on oroff with the flick of a switch. And you canadjust the heat output with a thermostat, a timer, or manually.

The Superior Convenience Of GasOur gas stoves run on LP Gas or NaturalGas, which are readily available almost everywhere. Even on constant high heat out-put a standard 125 gallon propane tank willsupply enough fuel to heat your home for10-14 days, and up to 30 days on a thermo-stat. Plus, the stovetop doubles as a conven-ient cooktop, great for cooking or warmingfood during a power outage! In fact, there’snothing like the wonderful aroma of home-made soups and stews simmering on a coldwinter day.

Installation Is A SnapBoth Franklin stoves can be easily vented through a wall or ceiling, or through an existing chimney, making this an attractive option inrooms where you cannot normally install a woodstove. Sixinstallation options are detailed onthe previous pages in this brochure.
