Announcements: PTA: Please look for information provided by our PTA regarding their next fundraiser entitled, “MESSAGE WITH A
TREAT”. In addition both Mr. Douglas and Ms. Tucker will be attending PTA Family Meeting, Thursday at 5:30p in Room
107. PTA Fundraisers for the 2017-18 school year include:

Math Field Day Practices: 8th grade practice for the 2018 Math Field Day Competition will be held on Fridays in Room
212 after-school from 3:30-5:00pm. Any questions regarding Math Field Day, please contact Mr. Taylor at x78315. Social Studies and More: PUSD now has Databases to support secondary Social Studies (and other) classes. Students can also log in from home. “Lights On! After school” - Weeklong events that highlight the opportunities that local after school programs provide for students and families. Lights On! After School is a national celebration that recognizes the value of afterschool programs that serve children during out of school time. Wilson LEARNS will be hosting Lights On! this Friday, October 27th at 4:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Daisy Quinones - our awesome LEARNS Coordinator - at [email protected] Wilson LEARNs Sports Update: To view the Wilson LEARNs sports schedule for Flag Football and Volleyball schedule, click here. When the season is over, Ms. Quinones will notify us of Playoffs and possible Championship games.
Wilson Middle School ~ Scary Story contest!: Deadline is Friday, October 27th. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each grade level. Each English class can submit the top 3 stories. Students are to see English teacher for details. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 - Happy Halloween!
Martin Luther King Jr. Essay & Art Contest: This year’s annual event deadline is Friday,
November 17, 2017. Applications and information packets are available in the library. Turn in
final entries to the library, by the deadline. Ms. Harper will ensure they are delivered by 6 pm.
Winners will be notified by Friday, December 18, 2017.

Bullying Prevention - Parent University Workshop: Save the date and inform parents to attend a very important workshop regarding bullying prevention. When: Tuesday, November 7th at 9:00 a.m. - Room 107. Presented by Rosie Banuelos. See flyer for more information. PHS 8th Grade Shadow Day - December 6, 2017: PHS is inviting any interested 8th grade students who want to learn more about PHS to their 8th Grade Shadow Day to be held on Wednesday, December 6th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In addition to the Shadow Day, PHS offers campus tours for interested parents/students on scheduled Wednesday’s beginning at 8:30 a.m. Space is limited for both activities.
