• 2.4 million children participate annually• 1.5 million adult volunteers• First game played in 1939 in Williamsport, Penn.• Little League is played in 80 countries

My Time with WLL

• Started coaching 11 years ago

• Joined Board 9 years ago• Spent last four years as

President

• Stepped down this year to spend more time with family

• Currently holding the positions of National League Player Agent and Treasurer

• 360 +/- players sign up annually (Spring)• 32+ teams each year (Spring)• Ages ranging from 5 to 12 • 200 players in Fall Season• WLL consists of the American League and the

National League (West Street Boundary)• District 64 – Dixon, Davis (2), Vacaville (3), Esparto,

Winters, and Rio Vista

Divisions of PlaySingle A (5-6 years old)

Double A (7-8 years old)Triple A (9-10 years old)50/70 (11-12 years old)

Challenger Program

Single A – Coach Pitch

100% Focused - Making sure the snack bar is still open. No leading off!

Double A – Pitching Machine

Triple A – Kids start pitching

WLL allows players to start pitching at 9 years old!

Intermediate (50/70)

• WLL switched from playing the traditional “Majors” baseball to 50/70 in 2015

• Pitching mound moved from 46’ to 50’• Bases moved from 60’ to 70’• Kids can now lead off and steal.• Limited field space – use portable mound and

adjustable bases.

Challenger

Started league in 2013 for players with special needs.

• Bob Buchignani Field (Fairgrounds)• Owned by the state. Formerly leased to the

City. Now leased directly to WLL for $5,000 per year.

• State does not reinvest in the field.• WLL lost lease in 2014 for 30 days

• Have a very good relationship with City• Assiting WLL with some of our improvements• Measure J – Not charging $15/player fee• Granted WLL $25,000 for restroom• Submitting request for an additional $25,000

for next fiscal year (lights at Pedroia Field)• Minimal field assistance• Police – quick to respond to our concerns
