Association Activities

Jan 12, 2008: The Annual meeting was held at Woodland Lakes Community Church. Attendance was disappointing, but to those who attended, the WLE BOD thanks you for your involvement and inquiries. President Steve Alvarez led the meeting, while each new committee introduced their chair and members. Teresa Vincent reported on the financial report for 2008 and presented the 2009 budget. We ended the year about $12,000 in excess, which will go to improving the grounds this year. Roger Scales also presented all the new information on www.wlehoa.com Please use the code included on your invoice when registering. Feb 14, 2009: The WLE BOD had its first official meeting and heard reports from each of the Committee Chairs. Thanks to Cecil and Marsha Johnston for their efforts on the Reception and Maintenance Committees. We also welcomed Design Committee chair Max Weddle. If you would like to help on any of the committees, please see their contact information on the WLE web site directory. Teresa Vincent reported on the current financials and confirmed our transfer of banking services from Intrust Bank to Fidelity Bank. Thanks to all members who are paying their association dues within 60 days of invoice date. Feb 21, 2009: The WLE BOD met with Maintenance Committee chair Cecil Johnston to select the 2009 Mowing and Landscaping contractors for the 23 acres of community common grounds and lakes. We are pleased to announce that TruGreen was chosen for grounds treatments and Precision Lawn and Landscape care was chosen for Mowing and Landscaping services. Also, the BOD unanimously agreed to renew the trash contract with Waste Connections. The new contract is in effect March 1, 2009 and will affect your next trash bills. The new monthly base rate is $13.30/month and we are encouraging everyone to call Waste Connections to convert over service or pick-up day to Friday as soon as possible. See our Newsletter Sponsor for more information and the insert explaining their new program. March 14, 2008: The BOD met to select the 2009 common areas projects. The projects will improve safety, create covenant compliance, or beautify the grounds areas. Over $12,000 will be spent this year addressing common grounds maintenance improvements. Thanks to Cecil and his committee for all the work they have done to organize projects, acquire bids, and present the prioritization.

Thoughts from the President: Welcome back to the warm weather! It has been another mild winter and I am hopeful we will have a beautiful green spring and summer again this year. I want to personally thank the new BOD and the Committees for all the work they have done. There is so much more we need to do, and to be honest, we need everyone’s help. The key to a successful HOA is involvement, engagement and cooperation. There will be many ways to be a part of this years WLE HOA community. Here are a few: 1. Please register on the web site. Vote on our member’s poll. 2. Sign-up for Waste Connections service on Friday’s and

include the new Rewards Recycle service for only $3.75/month

3. Volunteer for a community event or project. 4. Inquire about attending BOD or Committee meetings. 5. Submit project ideas. 6. Hold the BOD accountable and follow-up on any request or

concerns you may have. Our mission is to provide you with a safe, beautiful and fun community, so please be active in whatever way you can and please stay informed. Have a great Spring and be safe.
