GLULAMGlue Laminated Wood is an engineered wood product composed of individual pieces of dimensional lumber that are end-jointed and bonded together to create laminations. These laminations are stacked and glued in a straight or curved shape beam. Being an engineered product, these lengths are manufactured in strict accordance with outlined guidelines by CSA and certified by APA-EWS through a rigorous quality control and testing program. Goodfellow has to its credit many beautiful projects, such as Yale University’s Environmental and Forestry Center, Fort Erie’s Peace Bridge, the Gene Kruger Pavilion at Laval University, the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Community Center, and many others. HEAVY TIMBERDouglas Fir offers excellent performance for its structural wood dimension. Its weight is relatively low compared to its strength, making it an excellent choice for structural applications. This type of wood is also one of the most used worldwide in heavy construction timber. Douglas Fir is a structural lumber capable of supporting heavy loads.

DECKINGWe offer a variety of solid wood roof decking species and they are available in 2’’ x 6’’, 3’’ x 6’’, and 4’’ x 6’’. Decking installed flat on framed timber will allow you to create a unique open ceiling environment without compromising the strength of the structure. The decking can also be used for mezzanine construction.

Glulam Decking is also offered, particularly appreciated for commercial uses such as in Churches, Libraries, City Halls, Schools, and Open Office Spaces.

TRUS JOIST® TJI® JOISTSTrus Joist TJI Joists are designed to be resistant, uniform and lightweight for easy installation while saving time and labor. Resistance to warping, twisting and shrinkage will also decrease the possibility of claims. They are available in long lengths as well as different depths and flange widths, which allows optimizing the structure. The TJ-Pro™ Rating System helps to predict the flooring performance. Trus Joist TJI Joists are also easy to drill through for pipes and duct holes.

TIMBERSTRAND® LSLProvide solutions for applications such as beams, headers, rim boards, framing, and sill plates. Owing to its unique physical properties, it is possible to drill larger holes in TimberStrand LSL beams. TimberStrand LSL studs allow construction of open floor plan with high walls. With its dimensional stability and superior compression strength, these framing studs can be used as sill plates in multi-housing of 4, 5, and 6 floors to minimize shrinkage and support heavier loads.

PARALLAM® PSLEngineered to support heavy loads and allows long spans for open floor plans without intermediate posts or columns. The unique grain is perfect for applications with exposed beams. Solid sections eliminating the need to assemble multiple beam plies and allows faster on site assembly.

MICROLLAM® LVLMicrollam LVL is a reliable and economical solution for beams and header applications. The composite beams can easily be built up on site to reduce heavy lifting. The manufacturing process of Microllam® LVL minimizes many of the natural inconsistencies found in wood. Microllam LVL is available with a Watershed™ overlay for on-site weather protection.

Sold unfinished or to your specifications, beams and columns are available in three grades, Select Structural,1 & better, 2 & better. No 1 and no 2 grades are used for structural applications. The Select grade is specified when the visual aspect is very important and where higher strengths are required. Beams and columns are available in sizes as large as 30’’ x 30’’ x 60’ and can be pressure treated in our facilities for outdoor applications.

DECKINGSolid WoodWe offer solid Douglas Fir roof decking, available in 2” x 6”, 3” x 6” and 4” x 6”. Decking installed flat on framing timber will allow you to create a unique Scandinavian environment and this without compromising the strength of the structure. The decking is molded with tongue and groove for installation with hidden joints. Goodfellow also offers solid wood decking species in Red Pine, Red Cedar, and Spruce.

GlulamDecking is also available in laminated wood; it is designed with two to five lams of kiln-dried wood glued with a waterproof adhesive to form a glulam roof decking. Glulam decking is especially popular for commercial uses such as Churches, Libraries, City Halls, Schools, Office Spaces, and other similar applications.

SPECIFICATIONSEastern White PinWhite Pine has been the softwood of choice for years. White Pine has a straight uniform grain, dries well and is known for its light andeasy working attributes. This species glues and holds paint well. White Pine is used widely in the manufacturing of interior and exteriorsiding, panels, mouldings, windows, doors, shelving, furniture and many other carpentry products.

Lodgepole PineA common softwood found in western North America, Lodgepole Pine is an ideal species for paneling, shelving and exterior woodwork.

Red PineThis specie is denser and stronger than white pine. Its reddish grain and darker knots make this specie an excellent choice for flooring, paneling interior roof decking and truck decking. Red Pine is also used in light construction where appearance is required.

PINE FLOORINGIf you are looking for a unique appearance for your floors, Red Pine is an ideal product. The density of Red Pine is greater than Bamboo (see Janka hardness scale). Cottage country décor appreciates the richness and blend of this specie attributes. Available in widths of 4” to 12” and lengths ranging from 6 to 16’, Red Pine is easy to maintain , can be varnished, stained or oiled and can be matched up for mouldings and various paneling profiles.

SIDING AND PINE PANELINGGoodfellow offers a multitude of exterior or interior siding patterns in pine. For exterior lap siding patterns, cove, V-Joint, and Half-Round. For the interior patterns, V-Joint Pine Paneling, Pickwick, and fluted are the most popular. We also have the possibility to make custom profiles. Ready to paint or stain, smooth or rough surfaces. Choosing a unique appearance is choosing exterior siding or interior pine paneling that is warm and timeless.

FINGERJOINTED PINEJointed pine is composed of pieces of pine glued end to end or with combination of edge glued pieces (laminated). This product is quite popular when looking for a very stable piece of softwood. Available in standard 4/4, 5/4, 6/4 and 8/4” thickness in lengths of 16’. Finger jointed pine can be produced to your specification for manufacturing components in doors, windows and mouldings. We offer this product in raw natural finish and primed. We carry both domestic and import from South America.

Flameproof wood is a new-generation construction material designed for interior structural wood and millwork. D-BLAZE fireproof wood does not crystallize and is odorless. It is a fire retardant wood which can be painted or stained, easy to handle and work using common tools. D-Blaze wood treatment can be used in a variety of applications, including:

The commercial and industrial Goodfellow / CCA treatment is a chromated copper arsenate (CCA) wood preservative, used in the pressure treatment of wood to help protect it against fungal decay and termite attack.

Goodfellow ProNature Pressure Treated Wood is a preservation system which conforms to CSA 080 1,2-2002 Standard and provides a long-term protection for exposed wood in exte-rior applications above ground and ground contact.
