Cynthia is the type of girl you usually hate, full of life, sunny smile and

 just gives o positive vibes, nothing faze her, everybody can requesther for an errand and she ould illingly do it ith a spring on her

steps, she is everybody!s pet especially ith the teachers, Cynthia this,

and Cynthia that, it is as if the end of the orld if she is not around,

even though her uniform is not ne, her shoes is full of holes, her bag

is obviously from the u"ay#u"ay , she is not conscious at all or even

embarrass about it$

%s early as six o!cloc" you ould see her at the school gate, shecomes to school on foot even if her house is telve "ilometer aay, and

sometimes bringing ith her a &bayong' full of vegetables, banana,

corn and seet potatoes, in those days teacher ould circled her and

noisily ta"e turn in pepping inside, and nobody ould left empty handed

,they ould buy everything she ould bring $

&(id you buy all the vegetables in the mar"et and sell these to our

teachers)', * once as"ed her$& +o', she ansered in her usual sunny attitude, &hese are all our

on produce from our bac"yard garden at home', it turned out that

hen the school had an assembly meeting for the intensive

implementation of the -ulayan sa .aaralan .rogram$ Her father started

planting their empty lot at the bac" of their house and cultivating it to a

garden$

%fter several months they peddle their on produce resulting to an

added income for the family and money for her, for school projects and

even for the %/atoun savings that e students are oblige to deposit

ee"ly hoever small is the amount$

&hat is hy our family is very than"ful for the (epartment of 

Education program', for it gives them an idea on ho to have an

additional earnings for their family of nine$

Cynthia is still the girl that you li"e to hate for you cannot help but

admire her$
