I have found our school community to be a very resilient group throughout the challenges of the past 18 months, however it never hurts to be reminded of small pracces and strategies to maintain a posive mindset and our ability to be resilient.

present and future as the custodians who have cared for this country for 65000 years

We pledge to learn from their ancient culture and continue to care for the land

It was great to have some of our students back at school on Friday and today They all enjoyed coming back and seeing their friends and teachers We are not yet sure what the return to school plan looks like for our students in the senior grades but hope we can see you all again soon I will communicate this as soon as I am aware of any changes In the meantime Mr Mc and Miss S will continue to provide remote and flexible learning for those students still at home

Thank you to everyone who was able to send in some things they are grateful for in their lives This formed part of our newsletter last week and it was nice to see some positive vibes coming through

Earlier this year our staff attended a PD session presented by the Resilience project team As part of that day staff were given a 21 day wellbeing journal with a range of small reflection activities to promote resilience and positive mental health practices I have found our school community to be a very resilient group throughout the challenges of the past 18 months however it never hurts to be reminded of small practices and strategies to maintain a positive mindset and our ability to be resilient

Including the things we are grateful for last week prompted me to get out the Resilience Project journal for another little task that people can do at home We of course have our school values of Be kind Be Responsible Be Respectful and Be Resilient The Resilience project team speak of Gratitude Empathy and Mindfulness as three key factors in positive mental health One task in their journal which I would like to encourage people to think about this week is ndash think of someone who has had a positive impact on your life Write them a quick thank you note for the influence they have had and send it to them If you are willing to share your thank you note I would love to have a couple in the newsletter next week to inspire others to do the same Sharing a little bit of thanks and appreciation around our school and wider community Totally voluntary and donrsquot feel any pressure to do so but over the next term I will continue to put some of these tasks in our newsletter for those who might be interested

I was amazed at all the photos of the Threatened Species bake off entries last week Well done to everyone who got involved We hope you had a bit of fun putting them together and also learnt a little bit about the threatened species you chose Thanks Lydia for putting the links up to the activity Good luck to the judges I say there are some amazing creations on their site for them to judge

Restrictions and Guidelines in place at school

With the return to school we continue to work under some tight guidelines and restrictions particularly in regards to visitors on site

bull Only essential visitors allowed on-site at school

bull Visitors who do come in should check in via the app and should be wearing a mask

bull Hand sanitiser is provided at the front office area for visitors to use

bull It is recommended that students wear masks however this is not mandatory Families do need to provide their own masks for students and it would also be a good idea to pack a spare in your childrsquos bag for the school day

bull Ensure there is air flow and ventilation through buildings

bull Learn outside where you can

bull Stay home if unwell

You may see some contractors at school over the coming weeks These contractors are part of the essential work being done to ensure the building is compliant with the requirements for a BARR shelter in place All workers have the required documentation to work on-site

As mentioned earlier at the time of writing we have not heard anything in regards to our older students coming back on-site If anything changes or further announcements made we will communicate that as soon as possible

Thanks also to everyone who wore some yellow for lsquoAre you okrsquo day There was plenty of yellow on

the class webex sessions in acknowledgement of the day It is important we continue to follow up

with each other and check in with each other during these challenging times

ILLNESS REMINDER

Please remember that if your child is sick or has a sore throatcoughrunny nose or temperature

that they need to stay home We are doing regular temperature checking at school and we will

call and ask you to pick up your child if they have a temperature or are unwell We still need to

comply with COVID regulations We appreciate your understanding with this

We have included a great photo of the 23 grade on the

day dressed in some yellow Miss Sherwell is also holding

up a hand which was an activity her grade did during the

week Write down 5 people that you can talk to if you

have any problems or are feeling down
