2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed--

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs will follow

those who believe: In My name they will cast

out demons; they will speak with new

tongues; they will take up serpents; and if

they drink anything deadly, it will by no

means hurt them; they will lay hands on the

sick, and they will recover.

Luke 13:2 Do you suppose that these Galileans

were worse sinners than all other Galileans,

because they suffered such things?

Luke 13:4 Or those eighteen on whom the

tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you

think that they were worse sinners than all

other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?

John 9:2 And His disciples asked Him, saying,

"Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents,

that he was born blind?"

Galatians 6:7-9 Do not be deceived, God is

not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that

he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh

will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who

sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap

everlasting life. And let us not grow weary

while doing good, for in due season

we shall reap if we do not lose

heart.

Psalm 130:3 If You, LORD, should mark

iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

Psalm 130:4 But there is forgiveness

with You, that You may be feared.

Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in

Christ Jesus, who risked their own necks for my

life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all

the churches of the Gentiles.

Likewise greet the church that is in their house.

Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the

firstfruits of Achaia to Christ.

Greet Mary, who labored much for us.

Greet Andronicus and Junia, my countrymen

and my fellow prisoners, who are of note

among the apostles, who also were in Christ

before me.

Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and

Stachys, my beloved.

Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother

and mine.

dull hearts = waxed gross = really thick or fat.

Stupefied with notions of carnal and temporal

things, and become hardened against and

unsusceptible of, divine and spiritual things.

Deuteronomy 32:15 But Jeshurun

(Israel) grew fat and kicked; you grew fat,

you grew thick, you are obese! Then he

forsook God who made him, and

scornfully esteemed the Rock of his

salvation.

Isaiah 50:4 "The LORD God has given Me

The tongue of the learned,

That I should know how to speak

A word in season to him who is weary.

He awakens Me morning by morning,

He awakens My ear

To hear as the learned.

Philippians 1:12-14 But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

What brought Paul joy in his chains?

• the gospel was being preached

• people were getting saved

• believers were growing

Philippians 2:24 But I trust in the Lord

that I myself shall also come shortly.

Philemon 1:22 But, meanwhile, also

prepare a guest room for me, for I trust

that through your prayers I shall be

granted to you.

2 Timothy 4:13

Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at

Troas when you come--and the books,

especially the parchments.

2 Timothy 4:6-7 For I am already being

poured out as a drink offering, and the

time of my departure is at hand. I have

fought the good fight, I have finished the

race, I have kept the faith.

The continuing story of what Jesus began to do

and teach through believers like you and me!
