Why Golf @Bethany? The Bethany golf program was established in 1923. In the past 15 years, Bethany golfers have come from 21 states from coast to coast and 14 foreign countries. They play a fall and spring schedule in the states of Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and they travel across the country to compete in national championships. Swedes golf has played at Sawgrass, PGA West in Florida, and Southern Hills. They practice on four golf facilities only 15 minutes from campus. They understand their opportunity for a quality education and legitimate chance to play for a national championship. Over the years, many school records have been established, including a team record of 279 (9 under) for 18 holes and 853 (11under) for 54 holes as a team. Bethany secured 11 consecutive conference championships from 1994 through 2005. The team’s dominance has been unmatched in the history of any conference. About Head Coach Dalton Stevens Dalton Stevens begins his first season as Head Coach for the Men’s/Women’s Golf Team at Bethany College. He has been in the game of golf for many years and has interned at the Iowa PGA at Blue Top Ridge at Riverside. Dalton comes to Bethany with an impressive golf background. Dalton played his high school golf at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids. performer his junior and senior season and also First Team All-Metro selection. He also was the Mississippi Valley Conference Player of the Year his junior season. At State his junior year, he was selected as a Second Team-All State performer. After high school, Dalton accepted a full athletic scholarship to play at Kirkwood Community College. He was a Ping All-Central Region selection and also won the Region XI Tournament at Fort Dodge Country Club. He was also a part of the Region XI Team Championship. Dalton earned two NJCAA National Championship berths in his time at Kirkwood. After Kirkwood, Dalton accepted a scholarship to play at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Ill., before transferring and finished his playing career and degree and Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids.

Dalton will bring knowledge of the game and previous playing experience to Bethany College. His goals for the program are to help our student athletes mature as students first and athletes second.Dalton coached three All-Americans at his last stop as an assistant at Kirkwood Community College. He also helped them to a National Runner Up finish at the 2016 NJCAA National Tournament. He also coached at Iowa Central CC Prior to Kirkwood.

Dalton graduated with his Associates of Arts Degree from Kirkwood Community College and his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Management) from Mount Mercy University.
