Activity 1 : Training Programme On Disaster Management
Objective : To empower the women students in tackling unexpected disasters,
accidents, first aid and service to the society.
Procedure : Disaster management training programme was conducted in college
seminar hall from 28th to 30th August in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society,
AP State branch and Department of youth services. Principal Dr. Ch. Pulla Reddy
presided over the inaugural function and appreciated the activity. 44 students of our
college participated in the training programme.
First day there was a discussion on disasters and how to tackle them. On second day
there was a demonstration on first aid and on third day Dr. Kola Vijay Sekhar dealt
with general problems of health. Dr.KondaboluPadmaja visited the training
programme and discussed mainly on Woman’s health issues.
Activity 2 : A Certificate Course on Tailoring
Objectives :To empower the students to generate their own income for their future
and self-employability.
Procedure : On August 1st we started 40 hours certificate course on tailoring.
Principal Dr. N SasiBala congratulated WEC for the certificate courseIn the inaugural
function.
KumKiranmai, the trainer trained the students in stitching blouse, Panjabi dress, petti
coat, fall stitching and over locking sarees etc.
On September 24th we arranged a valedictory session and issued certificates to
participants In-charge principal Smt. B. Anuradha Devi congratulated all the
participants

Activity 3 : An Awareness Programme on Politics by IPAC
Objectives :
1. To empower women students to think of politics as a profession
2. To empower the students to take right decision in elections
Procedure :
On February 7th , we arranged an awareness programme on politics collaborating
with a NGO “IPAC”- Indian Political Awareness Committee. That was an interactive
session. Ms. Rose and her team acted as resource persons and presented a PPT on
present day political issues. Students actively participated and got their doubts
cleared. They were confident to choose a right person in elections. In charge principal
Smt. B Anuradha Devi congratulated the team and the students.
Activity 4 : District Level Workshop On “Empowering Women To
Overcome Daily Life Challenges”
Objectives :
1. To develop awareness on inequality, gender discrimination and gender bias
2. To strengthen women students both physically and mentally so that they understand the
importance of health and hygiene and also mental health to achieve their goals.
3. To gain knowledge about the challenges a woman face in her daily life and to achieve self-
confidence to meet them boldly.
Procedure :
We started inaugural session at 10:15 am. Principal Dr. Ch. Pulla Reddy presided over the function.
He congratulated WEC for conducting a purposeful work shop
IQAC co-ordinator Dr. K. VijayaBabu spoke about present day opportunities and explained how to
grab them
WEC co-ordinator Dr. G. SwarnaLatha explained the objectives on which the work shop has
planned.
In the first session Dr. PSLK.Prasanthi was the resource person. She focused on women health
issues, importance of good food, polycystic ovaries, .ovarian and breast cancers etc and also life
style diseases.
In the second session Smt. Sri Lakshmi – Advocate, psychologist focused on self-confidence and
different techniques to overcome depression.
In the third session Smt. NalluriRukmini – Senior advocate and writer – was the resource person.
She dealt with social challenges faced by women. She also stressed upon morals and about the
need of development of own individuality.
Valedictory session was organised at 3:30pm students gave theirfeed back so emotionally. They
develop confidence in dealing good and bad conditions. Certificates were issued to participants.
Activity 5 : An awareness programme on “Health of women –
Development of country”
Objectives :
To empower women to understand the importance of health.
Procedure : On International women’s day we conducted an awareness programme
on health of women and development of country collaborating with BJP
MahilaMorcha Women Unit.
Principal Dr.ChPulla Reddy Presided over the function. WEC co-ordinator Dr. G.
SwarnaLatha explained the relation between health and progress.
Different leaders from BJP MahilaMorcha spoke about women’s health. They
felicitated our outstanding students . Students actively participated in the
programme and understood the importance of health to reach their goals.
Activity 6 :Releasing of Souvenir
Objective :
A souvenir “Mahilotsav” was prepared by WEC to note the 75 years of glory of
Government College for Women – Guntur
Procedure : As a part of annual Day function Souvenir “Mahilotsav” was released by
Dr.Geethanjali –JD – collegiate education and appreciated the efforts put in by WEC
and Souvenir committee of the college Souvenir represents the activities performed
by each and every department of the college. Special focus has given to the
empowerment of women in the form of essays collected from eminent writers.
Alumni has given importance to recollect their memories associated with the college.
