Tax. Last Sunday the Gillard Government unveiled its carbon price and
compensation package on national television.
The big question on our lips is... How will it affect the Illawarra property market?
The Real Estate Institute of Australia predicts that the construction of a
new home will increase by $5,000, which will be expected to flow on to
the prices of existing homes.
Housing affordability is already out of reach for many in the Illawarra and
this movement has made it even more so.
The Government has not released any direct compensation programs
for the property industry, however, there may be opportunities for the
industry to benefit from programs to create greener, more efficient homes
and commercial buildings.

Well Priced Property Still in Strong Demand.As the world waits to see the fallout from the mounting U.S. and Greek debt situation; here in the Illawarra, ripples are barely being felt.
